Strange , but true......

I have noticed tonight the amount of people , you know, the old scoobyneters who would sit and discuss valid topics, and at the same time have a bit of a giggle too, seem to have been replaced with, well, I dont wont to sound out of touch, but half of you dont know what youre talking about!!
Lets start a subscription to the board.....
Oh my god what have I started!!

What would you like to discuss then Andy ?
The only thread you seem to have posted tonight is this one and I can't find anything interesting in it to discuss or any witty banter.
How about politics - I'm middle of the road how about you
Ian.

Tur3bo, agreed. Though I recon imposing a subscription to the board would be a barrier to freedom of speech.
I didn't mean to sound antagonistic its just that the original post came across a a bit elitist.
Cheers, Ian.

Ian,
Firstly thanks for your comments on my post,I appologise If you thought I was taking away "freedom of speech" No, not at all, infact I agree with you!
I was mearly picking up on a few threads Ive seen over the past couple of days with no names mentioned!
Was it the topic of my thread or the subscription factor that rattled you?????
However,
I dont consider myself an "elitist" (select group or class) Lets make that very clear........
Regards
Andy

Perhaps there could be another forum with subscription or a password to enter.. and you get removed from it by a decision of the members and allowed in by a decision of the members..
It could have no Scooby V ***** threads or scooby in lake pictures etc..
We could have a secret handshake too...
Seriously.. I know exactly what you mean and find myself in either of the two groups you mention depending on my mood..
but there is less interesting discussions going on these days, either that or I am here too much so less interests me now.. time for a holiday.. roll on Xmas holidays..

Andy, try not to take the comments on this forum so seriously. I assume you have a fair knowledge about scoobs, so you know which ones to ignore.
I never used to post on here that often, i just used to sit back and see what unfolded, i felt that if an outsider did post, the regulars were very clickey.
I thought that the whole board seems to have relaxed a bit lately (apart from the threads that turn into slanging matches!), so now i feel more free to post any opinions that i have.
Now your post has made me feel paranoid that as i'm not a grand wizard of Subaru's, my posts are not welcome.
At the end of the day though, its just a website and mostly a bit of harmless fun, try to chill out man!!

Andy, I consider myself a keep Scooby owner, and look at Scoobynet a place to learn more about my car, I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable, but still love talking about my car. Therefore if lots of new drivers are on the forum who 'don't know what they are talking about' perhaps if those wise/knowledgeable scooby owners can help them learn, that is why we are here? or did I miss something.

Woz.. my sentiments exactly.
There seems to be a few folk who are 'anti-newbie' which almost put me off using this board. Fortunately i stayed a bit longer and got a chance to see what it's really like.
As a new owner I came here for some info on scoobs. There is a really good community spirit here and some very knowledgeable people who are willing to help. There is also a lot of fun posting going on which i think helps the spirit of the board. For anyone who wants to argue/share differing opinions there are plenty of ppl willing to have a go. If you don't like it you don't have to reply to the post.
This is one of the best BBS's i've used, despite the constant moaning about people spoiling it. Long may it continue.

Is exactly the reason I and many people use Scoobynet....To learn and get useful and usable information.
I don`t think many ppl on here profess to know EVERYTHING, or give wrong or misleading info purposefully.
