DHL charged me 4.5% duty, and then 17.5%VAT
To be honest, I think they make it up as they go along, as they tried to charge me the taxes on my coils + freight + freight.
I emailed them telling the to F**K off and get it sorted otherwise they wont get paid at all.
Similar thing happened with Fed-ex. I got the parcel sent as a warranty return, and then afew weeks later received a bill for duty. ( obviously I should have been liable for duty, am trying to get round it via the warranty bit )
I didnt pay it, then they sent me a letter from a legal company stating I owed them xxx. I replied telling them I did not purchase anything, and that the goods were warranty replacements for goods purchsed previously ( spoof! ) and have heard nothing from them since.

If the nice people the other end will wrap it in birthday paper, and call it a present:
a/ It still gets covered Insurance wise for the full value (If you undervalue, your insurance doesn't cover it if its damaged-another way of paying less)
b/ I've done it numerous times and never paid duty (apologies to HM Customs-guilty M'LUD)
And of COURSE I always am very willing to pay anything "Her Majesty's" finest wish to charge![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
