Im not a ferrari fan, in fact, i hate everything about them....

all except the 288GTO... By far the sexiest car ever built.

Not the sort of car i'd expect to ever be able to afford though a nice shiny red 308 lookalike would do.

Best car......Tough one.......rs200, or 993 gt2, or 22b, or ......could go on forever!!!

Best brit, got to be Brunel, he changed the way the world is hugely with his ideas and inventions. As for Churchill, if you actually look into it, the bloke didn't really do **** all, didn't even write his own infamous speaches!!
Diana, Shakespeare, Lennon, etc.........must be havin' a laff!!!

my all time want to own car isnt a road car though, it's the totally insane McLaren M8F 9.1 litre Can Am monster driven by Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme. Please can some exceedingly rich chap read this and buy me one for Xmas.

Clarkson's at it again. Saw TG tonight. That's two shows of his I've enjoyed in the past couple of weeks. By far the best was the programme on BBC2 with his nomination of Isambard Kingdom Brunel as the Greatest Briton. IKB being my personal favourite. (Apparently so far, the late Princess is voters favourite for that crown... nice as that fine lady was .. The greatest brit? .... surely not )

JC's hour long show was devoted to the works of this truly great British genius. Back on track (hey nearly a pun ... my all time favourite car ...

the 1950s Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gull Wing coupe.

What's your'n then ...

P.S. The original Top Gear lost me as a regular viewer years ago. Then, those oh so smoooth presenters were so far up their own "look how clever we are" exhausts it fair put me off .... permanent. Clarkson's different approach makes me want to stick around for a while ....

Diana greatest Briton? Definitely not IMHO.

IKB gets my vote atm, but I am not really bothered TBH.

Whilst Brunel was great my vote would go the man who led this country thru its its darkest hours sticking two fingers whilst doing it. Churchil.

As for greatest car My vote would be the Aston DB5.

I have to say this for the new Top Gear, to me it seems to run along the same lines as BB's. From serious stuff to the wacky extrems like Grannies doing donuts and now "Im a man of god and I want to drive fast." this stuff is great TV.

like everybody doesn't know that

I think the Ford Anglia 105E, not the 100E, that was the pinnacle of automotive engineering

Not very original but the a 911 GT2 in yellow as seen at the motor show would do nicely.

Best brit has to be Churchill.

Did anyone notice how the DB7 was pitching and rolling about during JC's gentle drive through the countryside? Looks like it'll have to be a vanquish for me...

I just don't want anyone to forget

The E-Type is a close second - then there are about 50 cars in third place but if given no choice then the Audi UR Quattro Sport would be third

So many cars it's impossible to make a choice! ...I actually lost sleep over this last night

Def. with Little Miss on this one, however, I also love the R34 Skyline and having been to the motorshow last week I feel in love with the new 3million bhp MG (ok, slight exageration, but I can't remember the exact figure ) Absolutly stunning...so much so Chris ended up saying "do we have to watch it go around again?" Men, they just don't understand

Top BHP for the MG beastie is reported to be 965 - and I have to say if there is a car to sway me away from the sexy Viper - it may just be that!!!

The Enzo I wouldn't say no to - and I am not a Ferrari fan at heart

Thanks LM - knew it was something ridiculous

Liked the Enzo - but only from the back...certainly looked better in black than red

Btw - off topic, still got to send you £20 for your banger racing - is it too late? (started new job, only just back on SN etc...) drop me an e-mail if I can still send it... jenny.mawer@eastleigh.gov.uk

Certainly not the Citroen DS, although it does have "something" about it.

Most beautiful car of all time is:

Austin Princess. Sorry, I meant to say Lambo Miura. Fan-bloody-tastic. The Princess does look better than you remember, though

Look Mr Pedantic, I am not best at spelling when I am up earlier than normal. I haven't seen this side of 11am since - erm, not sure actually LOL

I happen to like the quattro's (look no capitals ) styling .

Look at all the Viper fans coming out

Jen, you should have mail soon!
