![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Anyone else got a Belgian/Dutch MY01/2 and have the details of Subaru Assist?
I have a Belgian phone number, but don't know the circumstances when I can call it or what sort of assistance I should expect. RAC renewal coming up, can I cancel/suspend it?

Speedking, not meant in a negative way at all, but... erm...
Try phoning that number....
Unless you have a new one: when I was "in need" earlier this year, I tried the number about 25 times. No reply, just music. I later found out that the call center went out of business a year ago.
So I'd advice you to do the RAC thing![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Disclaimer: it MAY be possible they use another call center now, but I wouldn't count on it too much.

Just went out to my car to be sure.
The number I dialled was 0032 2 773.61.24 (page 11 of service book, Subaru Assistance). It does mention the Mondial name.
We tried it over 2 days, and could never reach it (I was stuck in Spain at the time). We really tried numerous times (25 may have been an underestimation) to no avail.
Alledgedly a local dealer later told me he tought they no longer worked for Subaru.
Maybe that information is wrong, and I was just unlucky (yeah right). And maybe they cleaned up their act now ?

SK,
If you were hoping to use the service - forget it. IIRC the small print says that you must be a Benelux resident to be able to use the service.
I've got an Import 01MY and buy my own rescue cover

I haven't tried the number yet, but will do at the weekend.
Quote from the keyring cars website:
"Cars from Belgium now come with a 3 year warranty including Subaru Assistance."
If what NH says is correct then that smacks of anti-competitive practice against EU legislation. If it is the owner that is covered then I should be able to use UK Subaru Assist?
I haven't got any documentation so can't read the large print, let alone the small
, maybe that tells me everything[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

I can confirm that NH is correct (page 15)
Car needs to be registered in Belgium or Luxemburg. Lots of other exclusions as well (rental cars, transit plates, dealer plates, taxis, modified cars (hum
) )
Then it goes on to specify lots of other situations where they won't budge (accident, vandalism, theft, lost keys, fuel related problems, stuck in mud cars ...) LOL

Things may have changed since I got mine. Keyring have a good reputation on this board, so if that's what they say it would be worth a call to them to check it out.
Before I got the scoob I bought a Focus from Belgium and I had to buy my own cover for that as well. Breakdown cover is provided by the selling country.
But hey what's 65 quid when you've saved thousands![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
BTW Direct Line cheaper than the RAC when I looked
