How much is gas over there?
#1
Hi all,
I've heard gas is incredibly pricey over there, as compared to the sates here. Its going for about $1.45 a gallon. That rolls out to about $0.38 a liter. I'm not sure how you guys measure it. I'm just wondering for S's n G's.

What exchange rate you using then?
79.9p a litre is £3.62 a gallon (imp gallon)
At 1.48 $/£ that equates to $5.36!!!!!!!!
I was in Florida last year and filled my car up for about $10, I couldn't stop laughing

Reluctantly!
Nobody enjoys paying that much for fuel, but we just have to figure it into the monthly budget and work around it. But there are some small consolations: because in the UK towns tend to be closer together, very few people commute anything like that far. Plus we tend to drive more efficient cars on the whole, although the readers of this bbs are, by definition, likely to have traded mpg for bhp

Can you imagine driving the old beast I used to? a 7-Liter V8 pulling along a car weighing between 2.5 and 3 tons? back when I had that monster, prices were real low. I'd get premium for around $1.15 a gallon. you could find regular for as low as $0.79 a gallon. It was crazy. Score one for USA. (then look at the cool cars you guys get. PPP and all, and score one for the UK.)

If we paid that little for fuel and think we would rather have a 7 litre V8, not in such a heavy car though. Shelby had the right idea there. BTW how much do you guys pay for LPG?. Now a 7 litre V8 LPG car, that sounds quite good.
