Can anyone please help
My problem is follows. 3 weeks ago my scoob was written off, my insurance have had thier valuation done on the car. I have a MY97 R reg UK, saloon, model av miles, mint condition, (of course).
The problem is thier valuation, they have offered me £7200 for the carand that includes the excess. I called them today and they said to provide them with evidence of more scoobs of similar age condition etc. I have been on the Auto Trader and got about 15 examples. I need more, enough to show them that they are way out on the price.
Has anyone got any more suggestions as to where to get a load more,
and , or any tips/suggestions for getting more out of my insurance
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks, John

Just to give you hope.
I wrote my car of in August this year (fuel surge )
I was insured with Highway insurance through Greelight.
My car was a MY98 with 61,000miles and in excellent condition before a fight with the armco. It had a full scoobysport exhaust and groupN brakes as declared mods.
After much haggling I was offered £11300 minus my excess of £375 but a bit more haggling saw me with £11000 as a final payout.
This is probably a lot more than I could have sold the car for in the dead scooby market we are in at the moment.
So the moral is NEVER take the first...or second offer! Keep haggling. I only stopped when they said I would have to get another engineer to value it at my cost, which I thought was pushing my luck
Phil
PS Edited to answer your question! I sent in ads from the Subaru website insisting I would only replace the car with a full service history like mine had and a warranty to cover any misshaps. The prices are higher there too

Never take the first offer. They always try to under pay out hoping you just take it.(especially dodgy small companies).
My M3 went up in smoke about ten months ago and I just kept at them and got an extra £2000. Keep on doing what your doing and don't accept anything offers hat your not happy with. you will find that they will start to up the price.
One thing that i wish I did was to take a note of everytime you phoned them. Remember to note who you were talking too and what was said as you find yourself phoning them up and talking to a completely different person everytime. This means they can juggle you about while they "process" you. After a while you dont know where you are.
Keep at em!!
