why is my car quicker than a scooby

Every board gets them and the ppl that write these posts just love to start trouble. The guy probably doesnt even drive a Cav Turbo.
As for the rear diff comment, I think you are referring to the transfer box. I guess I can let this slip when you obviously havent a clue what your talking about here FLOYD
Have you compared the transfer box system in the new Imprezas to the older Vauxhall Cavalier/Calibras ?? Strikingly similar if you ask me.

quote:
Cavalier turbos are mercifully rare - but whenever I come accross them they ALWAYS have total t0ssers at the wheel with a point to prove: it usually ends up being that they can emit loads of blue smoke from their turbos.

Yeah and Imprezas are faultless ??
Thats the problem there. A lot of Impreza owners think they are Colin McCrae just because they have an Impreza. They think they will leave anything and everything behind but try and have a decent go at them and they dont bother or they dont have the bottle ??
I dont condone speeding in built up areas before you get the wrong idea, but on an empty road at 2AM ??
Joke brand ?? I know of one P1 owner who is now thinking twice when a Calibra Turbo owner had to back off on the M-Way before he ended up in his boot.
Now I know its a lot to do with the driver but it doesnt take a rally driver to floor it on an empty motorway now does it ??
It may be totally different if there were a few tight corners tho.
Sure, the person who started this post deserves all he gets but it seems a few ppl on this board are of the same mentality..... no ??
Why doesnt everyone just see sense and ignore these ridiculous posts ??

I have seen muppets with their Max krap cars
trying to race anything. The reason they think they are faster is because .1, I let them go, no point its a public road. 2. They drive "off their heads" like they own the road cutting everyone up and jumping lights etc. their brains are so thucked they dont care if they die.

But we have to remember that his Cav may be 'Koni equipped' and then his claim may be true.
And then again he may be faster because his rear diff went bang (as they all do on 4x4 Cavs) and he is now saving weight as it is now front wheel drive only......

Some pr1ck in an MG Maestro beat me the other day.
The trouble is he wanted to do 70 in a 50(I did 50), and 100 on a motorway(I did 80 )
I also had a boot full of luggage (5 door), 1 wife, and 1 sleeping baby.
Mr Maestro - You're the best!!!

Thats it matt.
You get tw@ts in nova's who think its cool to do 70 down Lincoln high street, revving there engines with the dodgy revs sticker in the back window.
You just let them go.
Thats right mate, you have the faster car.
@rse batter.

If you think you are faster than a Scoob, then prove it in a relatively safe environment!
I'm sure a number of people will have no problem is showing you, either at Santa Pod or on a trackday!

I was playing/checking last week, new turbo fitted, so needed to check the fuelling. From nowhere came a cav-coupe (Calibra) trubo. He sped up, slowed down, and kept trying to get me to race. As I was more interested in checking the fuel, and not racing, I ignored him. UNTIL I wanted to check full throttle, all he could see was my taillights in the distance. I slowed and he came back at a rate of knots, what did this fool have to prove? This time I thought what the hell, gave him a count down and PLAYED. But as you guessed, he still thought he had a better car. Shame, one day these fools will learn.
Dan
PS. This was done at 1 in the morning, so NO other traffic about, and on a motorway.

Dear Mr Gob£hite,
Perhaps the scoobs are actually getting out of your way 'cos your driving is as erratic as a frog in a blender. We mock your sadness sir, just stick to posing along Cleethorpes front @ weekends (or your nearest seaside resort) and impress all the 12 year olds who don't know any better!

Everyone knows a slammed maxed cav is the second fasted thing on earth (After a standard diesel astra). Scoobs are just everyday normal cars, so couldn't possibly hope to keep up.

They're obviously imports you've been racing ( they're restricted you see )
I tell you what Mr Cav-man, I'll pay for you to attend a track day in your cav turbo, a venue of your choice which is obviously hosting a track day and we'll put your theory to the test.........no better way to prove your theory sir !!? Or are you now very scared at the thought ?
We could have a raffle for some stickers, a pinstripe or two or even a tailpipe extension Your call ?

It took me a while to understand your problem but now its obvious,
The Touring Calibra is much quicker than the standard Scoobs in the Clubman and Sunday Cup. You seem to be an expert so why not move up to the World Cup?
Thats if you've got an International License.
Great game GT.
OR
How about getting daddy to take you out in his Vectra to show you what a REAL car drives like. (Ask him to illustrate its great handling).

Cavalier turbos are mercifully rare - but whenever I come accross them they ALWAYS have total t0ssers at the wheel with a point to prove: it usually ends up being that they can emit loads of blue smoke from their turbos.
"Vauxhall"...ha ha ha!What joke brand.

Dear Cav-Turbo,
Many of the comments here are true, i.e. that most owners are not prepared to race on the public highway. Posts like this will always attract sarcasm. Do you have any 'evidence' of the performance of your car? Have you been to a track day and have lap times that you could post? Alternatively, have you done any performace testing that includes 0-60, 1/4 mile and 0-100 times? If not then I suggest that you keep quiet until you have.
My car is faster than most other cars on the road in the morning on the way to work, but that's only if I am prepared to break the speed limits and pi$$ off many other road users (which I am not prepared to do) and that's in my wife's 1.6 Astra Estate!
It may be stating the obvious, but what did you expect?
Post some proof and the replies will be different.
Cheers,
Darren.

Man you lot are well touchy aint ya.
Scoobies are cool cars, but you lot have done nothing to show the drivers in a favourable light.
Scooby drivers never race, we just look down our noses at everyone else... blah blah blah.
On the way to RS Owners day this year a bloke in a P1 was well up for racing and guess what.... it was on the motorway.. oh my god imagine that. Speeding!
Needless to say against two 370bhp Escort cossies he lost.
The Jap contingent at TRAX this year was impressive, plenty of Scoobies and Evo's about, on the track as well as off of it ;o)
You lot can diss Vauxhall all ya like and sit there smug but I've seen some posts and evidence that you lot don't like V6 Vectras much, they don't make for good spoilers!
So a cav turbo in my opinion is cause for concern, that's of course if you lot ever went above 65mph, which obviously you don't. I mean imagine buying a £15,000 performance car and driving it fast, ludicrous.
Thanks for reading.
