Question

I can't decide which option to go for, UK spec plus one of these packs, or the JDM.

Has anyone driven all of these in STi 7 versions, and can say how they compare?

I don't think anyone has driven the different types but there was a rolling road day on Saturday @ PS and I think there were standard STi's, PPP'd STi's and at least one STi with a Miltek.

There is a thread somewhere with people that were at the day discussing the results.......

I've driven all 3 types

I own my own standard (absolutely no mods, apart from better bulbs!) one.

I've briefly driven Rob D's Milltek equipped car after we fitted it. Impresive gain in pick up and overall performance. "Lively" is probably the best way to describe the performance, as it really does pick up will at about 3,500 rpm, and pulls cleanly to the red line.

I've also driven Jools' PPP car, and it has similar levels of performance. Seems a lot smoother coming onto the power, but also pulls stongly and cleanly to the red line.

Overall, there wouldn't be a huge amount of difference in straight line performance, but I'd say that the PPP has the edge in driveability in the mid range.

The PPP is also quieter in terms of noise (there's surprisingly little increase in cabin noise from either when cruising), though does sound good when pushed hard through the revs.

It certainly would be a very tough choice between them.

Sorry to butt in but what exactly does PPP stand for, I assume it's a stage of tune on a Scooby but thats all I know??

Also, whilst we're at it, whats with this "MY" eg. MY02/MY99 etc. does it mean Manufacturers Year or something or is it something specificly to do with Scooby's as I only seem to see it mentioned on this BB??

Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for the feedback.

Of course, to add to the confusion the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car seems to be completely different again from the Euro model, so the question would then be (assuming it's a better car) will we be getting it for MY04?

Since no cats were harmed in the removal of said exhaust bits, I don't anticipate a problem......

Dave,

Actually I know for a FACT that my handling mods don't invalidate my warranty so

Matt

P.S. You're right about the farty sounding bit though, sadly

Question

Seeing as two negatives make a positive, does that mean that by invalidating his non-existent warranty he actually CREATES a warranty?

Bonus

Just don't take it on track
