Lets hope that Octagon don't get their greedy hands on another fine circuit and ruin it.
[RANT MODE]Octagon and the BRDC should be disgusted by the mess that they have made of Silverstone in the recent past. The circuit has been ruined all to suit the bl**dy F1 cars - now there is only one line around the circuit, and if you go off line you loose so much time you cannot overtake unless the opposition moves over. Add to that the fact they are now charging for all sorts of facilities (like having the stands open at club meetings ), and deciding to park all non-competing cars outside of the circuit.
To cap it all, the BRDC believe that the tax payer should pay for them to further develop the track to allow the F1 cars to be even more processional.[/RANT MODE]
On a more positive note, Rockingham is a superb circuit.
For the spectator the view is superb and the facilities aren't bad.
For the driver, it is a bit of a brake killer, and the chicane at the end of the banking / entrance to the in-field section is very narrow for cars (but the bikes can nearly straight-line it).
Come on Stef, how about a Track Day there?

Unfortunately, this is the common trend across the world, all the tracks are slowly being ruined in the interests of slowing cars down for "safety" reasons (nothing to do with slower cars = easier to read sponsorship ). I heard that the German F1 GP @ Hockenheim is being changed where they are basically getting rid of all the long straights and are building a new mickey mouse twisty section so the cars will never get up to much speed
Why can't they leave the great tracks alone!!!!!?????
