Question

Anybody bothering to get their CoolAir air conditioning unit serviced at £100 per year. Seems expensive to me... Why can't the a/c unit be covered under the normal service schedule?

According to the dealer, if you keep up with the a/c service schedule, then stones breaking the condenser are covered by the warranty. Cost to replace a condenser is £240.

My scoob's in for its 15k service next month - the service chap said that they will check it first to see if it needs servicing. Does this make sense? It will be cheaper anyways and I guess ensure that the warranty is kept up.

Does £250 (inc vat etc) for this service and the reseal of the underbody sound right?

They have also agreed to let me have a WRX for the day as well - woo hoo.....!

Cool

Your A/C only needs to be serviced once every 2 years, its normally vaccumed and re gassed, thats the best way for it, it shouldnt cost more than 60quid and id get it done by an independant operator as they are usually cheaper and save on the price of having the dealer call an independant operator to do it for you.

I was told that to keep the 3 year warranty on the a/c, it HAD to be serviced every year by CoolAir at £100 a throw!

As for your £250 - well I'm paying £150 incl VAT for the 15k and I was quoted £45 for the body service and £100 for the a/c, making a total of £295. £250 sounds good if infact it does include the a/c service.
