Sounds like a jumbo jet driving down the road (probably not the most PC comment, but no offence meant)

Question

I've been looking into scoobysport decat center section etc - what does fitting this do to your warranty?

Question

Hey guys

I'm thinking going full system, my only concern is the increase in noise.

How much louder does it get?? ie at idle, full throttle and at motorway speeds.

Wink

Mine's done

Ilde LOUD
Full Throttle LOUD
Motorway LOUD

Does that answer your question

Seriously, you do get used to it..I had a company car to drive on business the other week, when i got back in my scoob the full shock of just how loud it is hit me.

I am pretty sure that it invalidates the warranty for any exhaust related defect, but anything else that goes wrong is not affected.

Jane and I had our done yesterday - not quite the full system, as we kept the OEM centre section.

It's loud!

When the car starts in the garage, the whole house rumbles.
Pulling away from rest, it seems very loud, but not uncomfortably or unpleasantly so. It's sort of the difference between listening to an explosion on a film through your TV speakers (OEM system), or in Dolby Digital through your hi-fi with assistance from a large sub-woofer (ScoobySport system) - it's undoubtably louder, but the quality of sound is in a different league.

When crusin', you can hear a rumble, but's it's not much louder than tyre noise on a rough surface.

When accelerating hard, it really growls. Very nice!

And we're lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it.
(Lovin' it like that!)

Noticeable increase in torque all through the rev range - makes it even easier to drift over the ton. (I would guess. Obviously, I havn't been driving this fast.)

You know you want to.

its loud, but not "Max Power" loud, makes it sound really throaty, sort of noise that makes you smile when you accelerate.

Put it this way, my girlfriend hated the idea of me getting a scoob and when i picked her up from the train station yesterday, she was smiling as I drove up and everyone was looking. Im well pleased.

Have the full jobbie on my MY01 too. Bit of a shock from the standard zorst. wasn't sure whether I could live with it but now getting used to it and it's ok. If you are on a long haul it can be a drag. Can't be beaten when you are in the mood though and its fun watching heads turn when you go past.

Cool

Mark

I've got one and it's loud but surprisingly unobtrusive (IMHO!) on motorway journeys. I've been in cars with larger bore systems and the drone does your head in after a while, the scoobysport dosen't drone. I love it and would have nothing else ever

Feel free to come for a test drive any time with either me or Chris, although his is a bit quieter than mine but his car is the same as yours so you'd probably get a more realisitic idea of how one would sound on yours.

Nice one guys, thanks for the info, especially liked David sum up with the whole telly scenario.

Drone is certainly not what I want. Its motorway intrusion thats the worst, as you can sit at one speed for hours at a time on long journeys.

Scoobychick I will most certainly take you up on your kind offer. I'll mail you's later.

Well I think I will have to go for it,and my birthday is coming up soon, sooooo, hehehe

Thanks chappers & ladyeee's

Question

Is it worth just doing the centre section or do you need the downpipe to really make a performance difference?

Lo Fi - The downpipe is 100% more effective than the rest of the system changes - this is where you should start. It is a BRILLIANT thing to do, and must be an essential for the horribly laggy new WRX.

I have the Scoobysport one and it is great. Don't get the Oz MRT one - fit is very poor. D

Glad you like it.

You want the Up Pipe and the Downpipe... but remember they wont let you PPP the car if you've got ANY mods - so you probably want to go the Link ECU route when your ready for an upgrade - that will give you 270bhp/270 ft/lb's with the DP and UP fitted

But... if it goes bang dont bother taking it back to the dealers unless you've got a big cheque
