I am of the same opinion Pete, if I was a buyer I DONT want a modded car regardless of servicing.

BUT having now had my standard scoob for two years Im starting to do things to it. Just a little bit, nothing that cant be put back min a few minutes, but Im not trying to sell it Im doing it for myself. And Mr W is my FIRST choice of person to "do things"

ALL cars a bottomless pits, so what point are you trying to make? Some cars cost more money to own than others, and Scoobs seem to be taking a hit at the moment. So what?

Anyway, isnt it past lights out? You'll be keeping Ethel in the next room awake with all this "new fangled interweb thing" and your keyboard clacking

Why are they so modified??

Becuase they are crap...

Brakes are good yes?
Suspension?
Dashboard?
Seats?
Paint?
Build Quality?

They are crap, Ive decided..

I would add a smiley but I think the above is true...

Thats why I have one and have modified it

Not really just improve the 'experience' slightly.

Thumbs up

Spend £2000 modifying it - in doing so reduce its value by at least HALF - GOOD MOVE!!

Its a crap car in terms of Fuel Economy, Thin metal, interior is sparse but fine, brakes? stops mine ok!? headlamps Crap, servicing every 6 months crap, BUT:-

Its great to drive, its fast enough in standard form, its an icon, its cool, its relaible (if NOT modded!)

You pays your money ...........................

titmarsh...

Lets see yours then...

Just becuase you dont think they are perfect doesnt mean you cant own one and try and modify them to be better..

This whole subject came up at a northern meet... and I wasnt alone in my opinions of them...

And yes I own one... and its quicker than most.. and its a 5dr..

Lurking paul??

Adam would swap his vectra... remember when he thought it was broken?

David - quite simple, a modded Impreza has little value in the market .......................... hardly know how to explain simpler really?? The cars for sale pages are full of knackered modded cars UNWANTED!!

Would you buy a car off a RoyBacer?? NO?? Exactly!! neither would anyone else - hence its worth pennies

Money is MUCH more wisely spent on that BEER your laptop companion wants!!

Talking

David - those photos only go to prove that its in the garage ALL the time!!

I wouldnt touch it myself - anyone who has such an unhealthy need to extend their manhood by use of induction kits and big bore exhausts is NOT selling me my next car. Its more than likely a knackered bag of nails. Give me the ONE owner UK Standard spec car with FSSH EVERYTIME!!

Hence the car without the £2000 spent on it is worth easily £2000 MORE!! So, the mods have ACTUALLY cost you £4000!! good value????

Pete
