But take into account the 15 extra miles each way (or there abouts) to get to the shell garage each time I would want to fill up....whereas the bp garage is about 1.5 miles away.

So at 21 mpg around the town, thats a gallon and a half wasted just to save a few pence a litre I cant be arsed to do the maths

Yes Steve, it got me home in 23 minutes. Ferne even commented it seemed smoother and better from a standing start on her drive to work

Edited to say we only do 4000 miles a year, so its not too much of a hardship to have to use the SUL.

Question

Since I got my MY02 PPP'd I've been trying to run it exclusively on either Optimax or SUL, but where the hell do you guys manage to find SUL? I've already had the Scoob sat on the drive with a teaspoon of fuel left in the tank once, after I'd been to no less than 8 filling stations in and around Hull looking for a fill!

I've tried BP, Texaco, Jet, etc. but always have to default to the nearest (not so near!) Shell for Optimax.

I've seen half a dozen Scoobies around Hull recently, if you are on Scoobynet where are you filling up?

Paul.

No I haven't, steered clear of supermarket petrol after reading some comments on here about it!

Thanks Alan, I may swing by the local one and see if they have it.

Cheers.

Hi Mossman, exactly the 2 stations I use, filled up at Shell Willerby tonight!

Trouble is they are both the wrong side of Hull (West) for me, I'm out in the sticks East of Hull, on the road to nowhere...

Being in Garden Village (East Hull, James Reckitt Ave area) if Im not passing the Shell garage at Welton I go to BP opposite B&Q on Stoneferry - sells SUL, but its a bit expensive @ 90 odd pence per litre. Still, my little my96 deserves it

Cool

Buzz and Graham- they're ideal! I can easily use Holderness Road to come in on, albeit slowly....

I musta tried every garage that doesn't sell it!

If you are running short into Hull P20SPD, there is another Shell station at Goole, junct 36 M62 just next to MacDonalds/Glews Garage, saved me walking a few times!

Cheers Guys,

Paul

Mad i say, mad

Let me see, Optimax at approx 75p per litre, superunleaded (if you can find it) at 90p per litre. 30000 miles per year, averaging 260 a tank full. No way!! £950 a year

Hi - yup saw you too. I was running a bit late today as I'm usually in work for 8. Sorry but I had a little giggle to myself that there was actually another Scoob a little dirtier than mine!
So where's your car going - on a little holiday?

OK. I'll wave my G-Force Jesus at you. Have you seen them? You get them from the Gadget Shop for four quid (I must remember to take it out of the car when my Mum gets in), they are absolute class!
