Lisa thats a real insight into what really go`s on.
But please remember that no-one forced you to do it.
Please dont take that as a critisism as it isnt meant as one.
I have been involved with clubs in the past and know that all the hard work is rarley worth it.
Oh and I would just like to add that no I wouldnt want to do it.
Too much commitment for me and I`m not enough of an enthusiast I guess.
Just like driving fast cars fast.(In a controlled enviroment that is)

Echo David's comments, and add thanks for all your hard work over the years.
Perhaps I'm a coward, or not as thick-skinned as you two, but I'd have let this constant sniping get to me a looong time ago.
It's going to be a brave soul who tries to fill these positions, as it looks a thankless task - particularly membership secretary. I would have run for "IT officer", but if it just consists of defending yourself at every turn, I'll be a coward and settle for a quiet, easy life.
Nick.

Simon,
I agree what you said about Mr Palmers posts, but to post in such a way 3 times didn't exactly help - hence why perhaps some of the posts became a little more hostile.
Personally I think the outcome of this Bedford saga is a joke. It doesn't really affect me as there are many other organisations to choose from but to make this kind of decision seems a little OTT at best. I would love to run our car there but I'm certainly not going to beg for a place or accept major flouting of limits, without questioning. I think it's fair to say if the original questions were answered in a different manner perhaps things would have been different - perhaps not as JP already said he was reviewing this type of custom.
As for Lee to come on blaming Scoobynet idiots - perhaps it would be better for him to clarify just who he thinks are idiots so we/them can have a little say, rather than just generalising on the whole community. I believe Scoobynet was the reason Bedford went ahead.
As DaveTS says- it's always the case of a minority spoiling it for the majority - if that includes me and Ian for questioning legitimately Bedford then I'm not sorry - there is no way this should have had any effect on Bedfords commercial decisions - we were customers asking for explanations as to why things happened as they did. It cost us money (not just the trackday cost) - we may as well have just got £200 and chucked it down the drain (again this does not include the trackday cost)
But as always, people who weren't there, never go to such days etc etc were very keen to jump in and start splashing around.
I do feel sorry for SIDC for this to happen after all the cr4p that predated it.
However, as it seems pretty clear that no SIDC track events bar the National Day and IOM were to be rebooked, then being banned from Bedford has no actual impact on anyone from SIDC in any event.
Blunt perhaps, but true.

You have to admire the power of a bunch of muppets on the internet.
How amusing that a BBS where its "idiot forum" has almost twice as many posts as the "general" forum can result in a club not associated with it to get banned from a track.
Whats even more laughable is that 51 cars ran at Bedford. 7 failed the noise test and ONLY THREE WERE IMPREZAS.
HAHAHA. I'd give yourselves a good pat on the back if I were you.

SIDC IT Officer
no way to talk about your members is it ?
not that I'm a "muppet"......
or that I was even at bedford.
consider me "not" on the renewal list next year !!

I'm sorry too
I'm sorry that Bedford decided to breach a contract .
I'm sorry that people decided to complain about it .
I'm sorry that the SIDC got the blame for this mess
I'm sorry for those who've been banned for no fault of their own .
but most of all I'm sorry for the divisions that this incident seems to have caused between people .

I don't see any reference to the SIDC members in Lee's post.
In my book there are two types of muppet.
One - the harmless variety who frequent the muppet show and keep out of people's way.
Two - the idiotic muppets who spend their time making life miserable for others in the General Forum.
Variety is the spice of life.

Lee - Scoobynet is full of potential SIDC members, as most own - er...Scoobies. I joined SIDC after reading about it on Scoobynet.
After such a attack on your potential 'clients' as we pay for the privilege of being in the SIDC, it's a good job you're not SIDC customer liason officer.

oh FFS - I am glad he reduced his noise limit or else I never would have got on track, because the only other option was to cancel the whole event!

oh dear this is gonna run and run.
so thats bedford autodrome AND SIDC off my list. Ho hum.
I've spent a lot of time on a LOT of different forums, but I have to say this particular thread / incident takes the biscuit. How so many supposedly likeminded, adult, intelligent people can argue over a clear cut incident is beyond me.

Lee I have the right to say whatever I want where I want, I posted on Scoobynet because I'm not an SIDC member and wished to express my dissapointment and views on a public forum
Someone at SIDC should have pointed Mr Palmer to the SIDC vebsite and told him to post there.
but the blame is being aimed in the wrong direction, if Mr Palmer is so unreasonable to accept responsibilty for HIS actions and is too arrogant to accept responsibility without trying to pass the buck then all I can say is F*CK HIM

It is no surprise that you tendered your resignation. If it were me I'd have done so long ago.
I can barely imagine the frustration organising this event has caused. Having worked hard to rescue this day, for a group which I assume still comprised a significant number of non SIDC members, it must be doubly gauling to find the club is no longer welcome at Bedford.
It's regrettable that posts on this BBS resulted in SIDC's exclusion, but unfortunately all too predictable.
Little Miss:- Rich mode again, and so soon
mbc & Edcase,
If you had followed this from it's inception you may realise that it is far from a clear cut incident.
It also undermines SIDC credibility in the trackday arena and may jeopardise the clubs ability to provide low cost track day access.
