What Can I Get For £8000ish
#1
What sort of Impreza can i get for around £8000. Ideally I would like either an import or a reasonably new one.
I know sometime around 1998 there was a facelift on the Impreza,s. Am I likely to find one of these for that sort of price?.
Thanks.

I want it may be worth speaking to Townend Garage in Carnforth - they do great prices on imported Scoobs - down to around £5k.
They have a website - www.townendgarage.co.uk

The facelift was in 1997 (so a very late P plate may be facelifted - like mine)
in 1998 they got the new dashboard as well.
You should do well with what you have to spend.

Mate, id look for an import on a 96ish. you should be able to get a low mileage, beltin import for about £7000, however, most insurance people want not only a cat1 security system, but a tracker!!!
this will cost you just short of a grand (all in)(inc £99 per year reg fee for the tracker!!!). Get an import cos the build quality (never mind all those extra crazy horses ) is so much better
Same again, check out www.townendgarage.co.uk
or phone 0152 473 3837 and ask for stuart or simon.
best of luck

If this car is Genuine then it is a steal and well worth the trip to Ireland.
Pay the AA to check it out and if possible maybe get a fellow scoobynetter to visit the car. If it checks out but it!!!
Bargin!!IMHO
nothing to do with me by the way

if you can stretch your budget a little & haggle, try paul norman @ fenny compton garage (subaru/isuzu) in southam, warks (01295 770244): have just PX'd my red prodrive MY97(R) saloon this week for a creamy H6 VDC outback.
FSSH, 68K, immaculate interior (non-smoking car), front buckets, prodrive driver pack, 230bhp, unkerbed anthracite 17" speedlines on 45 section pirelli p-zeros, MY00 high rise rear wing, GGR lip spoiler, hayward & scott backbox with ITG air filter, 6-CD autochanger, 6-spkr philips hi-fi. vgc, v sorted, v fast, v reliable, v well cared for. new discs all round in december 2001, new front pads november 2002, just had 67K service.
good time to buy, it being december and all. he's not realistically expecting to shift it until the early spring.

go for an import. You can get a 98 easy for that money if you know the right people
Ive seen 96s come over for £6000 with a few mods and low mileage. Uks are hard to find with low mileage.
Also, you can probably get a 5 door with service history with low mileage easier than a 4 door. I sold a 5 door UK with 32k FSH, MY 96 and gold alloys for £6500 Could have sold it for more but couldnt be bothered! lol
