Did anyone else go? I didn't see any other Scoobys on track apart from mine!! There was a STi UK and a classic turbo in the paddock but that was about it.
Great day out, 4 wheels drifts in the wet. I love it!!
As with motorway driving, the rain bought out the idiots on the track. One guy in a race done up rover obviously had his hearing aid turned off in the drivers briefing or didn't know what 'over taking on the straights only' meant.
Red flags came out every 45mis or so for the spinners but no serious damage to any cars that I saw, just the drivers pride!
MG race team was down there doing some testing and wow where they quick
Could of done with out the 40 year old Jag out there that was doing a great job of being the mobile chicane. Muppet.
For £75 (+insurance) twas not bad for a full day. More dates all through Jan and Feb of which at least one I will be attending.
Worst things about the day were the 2 hour+ journey in the rain to get there, price of food (£4.50 for sausage, chips and beans ), and the price of on-site petrol (99.9p a litre!!) but hay you can't have everything
Nezz.

DBM MY00 in the paddock car park
I am a little undecided about the lexus stylie lights, not that they look bad, just not what i was expecting. The car DID sound fabulous though

Was a rover 200 coupe, MY95 ish I think, yellow paint job with lots of stickers. Anyone want to own up to it?
Cheers Mikey, didn't see a MY00 DBM but did see a light blue R-reg there.

What happened to the Rover? I turned up to spectate about lunchtime, and it seemed quite quick, but erratic. Not really surprised that he crashed .
Didn't stay long, as GF was moaning about being cold and wet . Does anyone know if there are more of these days in December? I'm getting tempted to track the current car as long as its dry

You bloody sanctimonious lot! Just what gives you the right to flame other drivers so openly? There were a fair few bad driver's out there, but considering it never stopped raining all day - what did you expect - an orderly procession? There were only 3 of you out there that had the benefit of 4wd, so have some respect for those that didn't!!

LOL @ Matt.
Yes I did manage to get the car home in one piece, this time
I (luckily) only had a small moment when I went to fast into the long corner before the back straight. Started to go very close towards the gravel and thought I was going to get a couple of dirty tyres but a change down and flooring it sorted that out
Have you ever done Donington Matt? Lovely track (especially in the wet ). The corner that starts to go up hill towards the spitfire model was the best. Booting out of that one would always make the rear end jump out but just keep it floored and a little reverse lock and there was simles all round
Redkop - As for the yellow rover it wasn't that fact he was fast and spining off everywhere. It was his driving manners that could be improved. He would stay about 2" away the rear bumper of anyone that dared to get in his way, overtake around corners and into the braking zones - which we had been told 'NOT TO DO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES' and in the wet as well!! It could of ended up in a very nasty and expensive accident . The fact that it is not just me flaming him just goes to show how unconsiderate his driving was.
Redkop where you even there to see his driving?
Blutes - Donington is near Nottingham, just above Birmingham.

Redkop,
You had to see his driving to beleive it, as I said in my earlier post he went in too deep too fast, and the guy lost it big style, nothing to do with 4WD or rear or front cos their were other people having moments, but the guy in the Rover had one of the best ones of the day, their was a guy in a 3 series BMW who lost it coming onto the pit straight, but he held onto it.
Cheers

Have booked one of these cheap days myself, I now know what the trackday cover man meant when he said the premium would be in the highest risk band.
Just out of interest were people who over-took on bends shown the black flag and sent home or did no one care?
