Excellent! While I think the death sentance would be more appropriate, what they've got seems to be above the usuall poor standards. let's just hope they get beaten sensless on the inside

Fine as far as it goes, but why a cushy young offenders institute for an armed 20 year old Far from getting beaten up they'll be basking in their notoriety & terrorising the teenagers.
Then, 19 cars worth £350,000, hardly ram raiders were they. So the thugs at the front end have been convicetd. What about the the sophisticated pseudo businessmen trading these vehicles?
The have probably already been replaced by another bunch of yobs attracted by easy money (:

Well better than a slap on the wrist + told not to do it again!
A while ago it was said that they would make an example of the gang (does between 10 - 14 years reflect that?)to deter any other little dears from following in their footsteps. Lets just hope it has some effect!
Well done to the police for a change.

I think we should give these poor souls a second chance.
Apparently, there are lots of minefields all around the globe. They should be made into a special team of minefield clearance experts. Instead of conventional methods of mine detection, I suggest they use the "stomping around in big boots" method.

Outside the court, Detective Inspector Keith Garnish, said: "The lengthy sentences they receive send out a crystal clear message that gun crime of any type will be met with zero tolerance."

So if they don't have a gun (imitation or not) it's back to slapped wrists verdicts as it's "only" carjacking...
At least they've got a reasonable sentence lets see how long they're in for

Cut the actual time served by 50%, as this is standard unless they misbehave inside.
Then take away time spent on remand waiting for the trial, as this counts towards the sentence.
Then you see they won't be in for any longer that 5 years from today.

When i heard the sentence i was overjoyed. The night the were on one of their rampages, my scoob was on the road. Luckily as i live on a back road im quite safe. If i did however live approx 60m away they would have seen it as the chap who had his stolen only lives 3 roads away from me. I dont really know him that well but i remember it was a new STI 7 which they took and the police found it trashed. I hope they relly let them have it in prison.

I have to say if someone kicked down my door and stuck a gun up my nose they can have the keys.
My life is worth more than even a brand new STI.
On the other hand however, if I could tell it was a fake gun then I would batter the little ****** and all his mates.
Car crime is out of control in the UK and its about time they got what they deserve.
A few years ago a mate of mine had is cossie stripped, all the colour coded bumpers, wing mirrors, wheels etc etc in broad daylight, the caught the little ****, he was 14, the old bill told my mate that its no point in prosecuting cos he's already got 10 offences outstanding against already - where's is all going to end.
They should do what they do in Singapore if the kid is under the age of prosecution they publicly flog the parents (if they have any) and compensate the victim by selling the parents possessions, house, car etc.
A bit barbaric maybe, but it works, you don't see gangs of kids roaming the streets after dark looking for cars to vandalise.

All Sierra's should be stripped!
Seriously tho - I'm glad they got what they deserved, but as previously said, someone else is organsing the whole lot and selling the motors - they're the ones that really need sorting!

Nice in theory but these guys aren't messing around.
As for the sentence its a joke. They'll be out in 5 yrs doing the same. Some liberal do-gooder will reduce their sentence.
Personally scum like that need to be taken down the local kebab house and fed 10 Donnas laced with the hottest Chilli(no water). Then moved onto the 'Blue Oyster Bar' and start picking up the one pounds coins on the floor.
