Hi all,
My breakdown cover is up for renewal and I'm currently with Subaru assistance but I'm not all that happy with their ability to perform as one saturday I had a duff batery and the Subaru assistance took 1hr 45 minutes to come to my rescue. even when I told them the problem when the guy turned up he was from 3 miles away a "I think he walked!!!!" and he had been told nothing about my problem until i spoke to him.
So are they that bad and can the others fair any better?
Some help would be nice to make my decision.
they are all about the same £65-85 for at home and recovery.
what have been your experiences do the roadside assistances at the RAC, AA and Subaru know what they are doing when presented with a Subaru Impreza. Other than stick it on a low loader and let the dealers sort the problem.
cheers,

I've had mixed experiences with Subaru Assistance. They're just a call centre really and the work goes to local operators. My first recovery by them was a disaster (sent the wrong sort of vehicle to recover a 4WD car!!!) and even though they always send you a questionnaire afterwards they didn't respond to my "stiff letter"... .
I'd probably go for AA if I was paying for it...

I had free AA cover with a Honda(had to use it twice for the alarm) and they came very quickly.
I now have RAC(just incase I **** it on track or something) used it once, just as quick as the AA. I did get a good deal for having me and a family member, that made it much cheaper.

The call centre just routes the call to a local subcontractor. That's the opinion I got when my battery died (and I my common sense decided to go for a break that morning) and I called them. A pickup truck with the name and number of a local company turned up.
They're probably as good as the rest of them.
Since my warranty has expired, I've joined the RAC, using Tesco clubcard vouchers (20 GBP for home and roadside).
