Christmas Quiz. (can you do 'stickies' here?)
#1
The Annual Scooby/GTR/MLR/TIF/LSOC Quiz.
This quiz is meant as FUN it will however be posted on all 3 above forums you answer just the once YOU MUST NOT EDIT your answer as you will be disqualified! and will be a ‘ramped’ quiz, the questions start easy then they just get harder and harder meaning that by the end your damned head will hurt.
Answers will be given on all forums on Tuesday 31st Dec at 6pm
Scoring system.
To avoid someone waiting and picking what they like from the previous posters there is a subtle depletion factor so that even if you get all questions right but post them on the last day you can only be rewarded 60% of the points accrued from the harder questions you may answer only once.
It is open to all and I have used a little trickery to level the playing field for those who have general knowledge as well as tech stuff.
Lets make a start….

Q20/. The SS?..surely not in the UK. = Jaguar
1pt for each correct except Q16 and Q17
25 points max section winner James Ashley Supra/CTR driver.

Q21/. The formula for calculating initial Ram Air pressure. MPH--->PSI (hehehehe, told you it was hard.)
Q22/. The formula for calculating the ‘G’ force in any bend of any radius taken at any speed.
Q23/. Wheels are ‘centred’ onto the hub/axle by what?
Q24/. You are stranded on the road, you have parked with one of your drive wheels on a manhole cover that suddenly collapses, and you are driving a 2WD, and it has a Torsen Diff, do you just drive off or do you have to push it? Explain your answer in less than 12 words.
Q25/. Who makes the best Japanese car….whoops sorry! (hehehe)
Q25/. What Precious metal is contained in a Catalytic converter. (always finish with an easy one)

You are doing OK...but...you are supposed to get all the answers you can and post the once! That way I can judge whether you are doing this from a knowledge base or from trawling the Net, so assemble the full list next, publish it and take your chances.

and on to the harder stuff now I have had sleeeeeeeeeep
21. V=40 P^ (1/2) V=Knots. P= Pressure difference
I'm lost on that one really
22. RCF=11.18 x (N/100)2 x R
N= speed (rpm)
R= Rotation Radius (cm)
RCF= Centrifugal force (Xg)
23. Stub
24. Drive out, it's a torque sensing diff
25. Palladium.
Ok all done

Fuzz, you are doing well with that, but there are are 100 points available and you have about 30!
Lots of people it seems are printing off the quiz and doing it as an after dinner quiz tomorrow!
Good idea actually...
Only 1 'tech' question has benn answered on any forum correctly...I may have made it too hard!

Is the answer to 22:
m*(v^2)/r, where m is the vehicle mass, v is the linear velocity and r is the radius of the bend?
I knew applied maths would come in useful one day
