As it would appear that the requested 'projects' forum is not going to be available, I have a suggestion for differentiating between the current 'General Technical' and 'Drivetrain'
Currently, there appears to be no demarcation between the two titles, in the search for something 'interesting' I find it can be a bit of an irksome task trawling through both forums.
There are a lot of VERY knowledgeable people out there who have stopped posting on scoobynet, most of them post their 'really technical' questions/ideas on 22B, Nasioc, MLR or GTR forums. This is a real loss to this board.
There appears to be a wider range of people using S/net now so in future there will be even more newby questions.
There will also be more people going for big buck, big power, high tech, pushing the envelope type modifications. It would be a shame not to capture this here.
How about raising the technical content of 'general technical' ? perhaps rename it (Advanced Technical ?) and add a 'sticky' to guide potential contributors. To get it started would require fairly strict moderation, anything newby or even slightly muppety (you know who you are) being decanted in to Drivetrain or Muppets.
Instead of chasing our own valued contributions, lets try and attract the other boards 'techies' over here and create a cutting edge Technical forum.

Andy, I agree with a lot of your observations.
If anything, the current division between Drivetrain & Technical is very unclear. Where do you talk about a MAF etc ?
Maybe the projects suggestion wasn't good enough, but having an "Advanced Technical" forum would certainly get my vote.
One problem I see is that you don't want to lose the "history", so maybe there is space for a Technical, Drivetrain (as they are now), and "Advanced Technical" forums ?

There is just one problem....what constitute 'advanced technical' To a meer mortal like me remaping and stuff like that is advanced technical, but to Andy F, David Wallis, John Banks, etc this is pretty much kiddy stuff
Whilst its of little use to me and can see how some of the highly technical threads are being bogged down in the day to day guddle...good idea

I'd second that . Be good to get other technical minds over from the other boards now and again and have some good topics to sink our teeth into . I'm getting a bit sick of threads like the current Thomo (i think that's correct) one..... just a load of blah blah blah!

Why can't we have a projects forum the I-club as it was formerly known has how to's on every single popular modification. I have used many of them to perform mods and routine maintenance. It makes this forum look archaic
