I don't think it's as bad as people say it is not even the old models.
look at the other cars, the old Golf, Astra (old & new), Ford Escort, Nissan Almera, Lancer, Civic and more, they have a less appealing and not the same build quality the Scoob has.
Yes it's not up to the S3 and new Golf but it costs less and lasts longer, just look at the Golf Vs. Astra Vs. Focus long term test in Autocar in which they stated the Golf's interior looked the oldest at the end of the 25,000 miles.
