Deffo not being silly. I won't even park my car for half an hour, in a pub car park, day or night.
A few years ago my Clio 16v got keyed on the High street, in the middle of the day.

Yep agrees wouldn't leave mine in a pub car park overnight, it would be asking for trouble.

Quite frankly don't like leaving it anywhere If I can help it

See my thread on supermarkets and using two spaces ?

Yep, I tend to leave mine wherever - it is insured, so if someone does something to it it is covered.

No point spending your life worrying - its only a car after all.

i have a £750 excess on my car dont know what yours is but if someone decides to jump on the car im £750 out of pocket so to say it is insured doesnt count you would still be out of pocket plus claims like that damage your no claims discount so you pay even more.

Cool

at the end of the day youve got to suss the place out if its a dingy place no way if theres peaple around maybe[i would probably worry if it was somewhere i didnt know]but at the end of the day it is a car and thats what thier used for .p.s. if you do get p.s.d[pissed] then try something like "scooterman" if you cant bear to leave the motor overnight. ive never used them but who knows -better than a sleepless night.[its basically a service whereby a chaufer takes you and your car home if your over the limit-tel;08702426999]

no chance - just not worth it - will be going out in town later and dumping the 205 (which has alreay been keyed and in need of a respray anyway) and the scoob stays in its garage minding its own business.

my friend had his car keyed outside his house last week - nice xmas prezzie from some ****.

when the 205 got keyed i was annoyed - i mean it is a £500 car? what was the point - that said why would i then leave my scoob - worth 15 times that in a dodgy carpark or similar?

the paintwork is mint - a few other scratches and i prob ably would not care so much, but at the moment it is begging for vandles.

No way with a Scoob.

I used to do it all the time when I had a company car (Peugeot 406) and never had a problem, but wouldnt dream of it with the Scoob. Id rather get a taxi.

I wouldn't park my car in the carpark of ANY of my local pubs. As has been said, the girlfriends house is 5-10 minutes walk from any of them and if it's raining a taxi is £2.

Steve, if you don't feel comfortable leaving it there, don't. It's as simple as that. If someone else wants to leave there car in spot x for a while they're more than welcome to do so.

Hi Steve,
Either your mates don't know a lot about cars or they're not really your mates at all.
Sorry for sounding negative but there is no fecking way any person in their right mind would leave a Scooby in a pub car park all night!!!
Mind you I live in Manchester

My dad has a pub, so if I want to go and see him, I have to leave the car in the car park! Never been touched, scratched or anything. All I get are nice remarks when people come into the pub for a drink!

I left mine in a pub carpark in the summer for half an hour after work, broad daylight, 6:30pm, front of stereo with me, and still had the glass smashed by some mindless desperates who rummaged for whatever they could find (not a lot compared to how upset/violated/etc I felt).

We drive nice cars, we have to park up sometime. There's just no telling when and what car the **!!**'s will strike next. But I'd not leave mine in a pub carpark overnight!!!

Depends on the type of pub, ie country pub or town style massive pi55 head central....

I've left mine in a country pub carpark overnight before with no problems....

if its the latter i'd be a bit dubious, tho if I wanted to get a few lemonades down me neck i probably wouldnt care too much tbh.

I think a lot of people are ignorant towards performance cars, and don't understand the risk of leaving it places. Mine has Prodrive gear on it, and attracts a bit of attention. The number of times ive come back to it and there have been people looking around it, admitidley out of curiosity rather than with intent to vandalise it

Imagine if you left it in a place, overnight, with pissed young lads around... Id take a bet on it being at least keyed!

My mates don't get it either, but they drive **** cars

I really don't like leaving the car anywhere remotely dodgy (includes fiancé's flat), but because I'm a lazy **** the car has been left in places I'm not comfortable when I've gone out on the **** (like the Bells car park behind Union Street in Aberdeen) and <touch-wood> never had any bother.

Now I've bought a house in the city and it's just as easy to drop the car off on my safe street.

"safe street" is that the one with the guarantee that no car gets robbed, vandalised or looked at from the wrong angle?

One of the safest postcodes in the UK, mate. Nil difference in insurance between off road secluded country post code to onstreet parking in the city.

if your car gets done out side your house thats tough! but leaving in an unattended car park where even if the alarm goes off no one will care is totally different, if there is a car in a car park at night you know no one will be back to it for a long time.if its outside your door, they someone could come running out of the door at anytime so they have got to be quick
