Cool

Hi all,

Just reading the "original STi" thread, and decided to see who else may have another car from the same 'run' as mine.

Mine is a 99 STi5 Type RA V-Ltd, and has the little plaque by the gearstick which gives its number (510 -1000) and underneath its got "WRC 555 Limited Edition"
Car is Sonic Blue (is this the same as WR Blue?) with roof vent.
Front seats are limited blue cloth/alacantra with '555 World Rally Team' logo on them.
Got a quickshift gearbox, Momo wheel, all pink stitching on wheel and gearknob etc.
Err....STi logo'd foglamp covers, but no lamps behind them?!
Pink 'Stars' on grille badge (thought they were supposed to have pink I...?)
STi logo'd carbon fibre strut brace...

I could go on, but I think some of this stuff is 'standard' STi stuff innit, so anyone got one of these?
Would be interesting to know if anyone else has one of the same 1000!!

Cheers,
Mark...

John Felstead has one.

It is a Subaru Impreza WRX STi V type RA V-Limited. Just to give it the proper John title......every time you mention Subaru Impreza WRX STi V type RA V-Limited, you have to make sure you say Subaru Impreza WRX STi V type RA V-Limited.

Sorry John.

Me too i will never ever part with it as put simply it is devastatingly quick with its silly ratios and i havent been in anything more accelarative that is genuinley usable daily
however i must get the back seat trimmed to match the front ones.

Reagrds

Mines' no. 440 (if memeory serves!) unfortunately, in order to check, i'd have to drive 20 miles and ask the garage to reopen for me (currently having a new motor fitted coz the old one went "pop!" rather badly.

John, the problem we were posting about a while back looks like the oil pump pressure relief valve stuck partially open, no. 4 failed, then the swarf went on a little holiday round the engine, scored a bore badly, cam bearings in both heads etc etc. Lunch really. its more sensible to buy a new one (7k) than rebuild (£6800ish)

Warranty holdings wil lbe inspecting after new year... i'll keep you posted!

Cool, thanks guys.
Looks like I do have a fairly rare one then, although, saddened to see its not the only one on the IOM Ken!!!(is yours really from the same run?)

I also forgot about all the nice electrical goodies too, thanks John. Also some bits in the list there that I didnt know about at all, so was educational to say the least!

John, I like your wheels by the way, what are they? 17s? and where from, price etc...
Only have the the subaru standard 16s on mine at the mo.
(Want to take some pics but weather has been sh1te!)

Cheers
Mark...

Nice one Tim!

I see yours has side skirts. Did it come with those on or have you put them on afterwards?

BTT for reply from Mr Felstead about his wheels, and Ken in IOM...

Cheers

Mark,
Sorry for the delays, have been to England over the new year to see the inlaws, just got back last night.
Mine is no 218 (I think!) from the same run as yours so no, there are at least two on the island and you have reduced the exclusitivity of mine by 50% !
I can recommend Paul down at Southcoast for the servicing, he really knows his stuff. Had a problem with the alarm on mine that killed the car and he was excellent at sorting it.

Ken.
Back on the rock, complete with password to I can post again!!

ps, just checked out the pictures, looks like Jurby? You been playing there? It better not be Ronaldsway or I'll have to kill you! Can't have two in the same damn car park!!

(edited for ps)

Hehe, Hi Ken.
Hope you had fun visiting the 'outlaws'

Err yeah, SCP services Ive been to before, and thought he ripped me off a bit TBH. Had just an ordinary service (not any of the biggies) done on my old 94 WRX last year, and it cost me £400!!
The RA has been serviced by Haydn Minay since its been over here, so I think I'll keep going to him...

Yes the pics were at Jurby. Was up there watching the rally on the 28th and as the weather wasnt too bad thought I get some pics in!
Dont worry it wasnt at Ronaldsway!

Am I allright to mail you off list to chat about the cars / compare notes etc...?

Also, thanks to Martin for letting me know what his wheels were. Very nice I must say, but I bet they're a pretty penny!

Cheers
Mark...

Martin,

I'd look into removing the HKS induction kit if i were you. There have been numerous threads on here about how they can cause the MAF to fail, which in some cases people have atributed this to an engine failure. Only what I've read as I said but if it were me I'd take John Felsteads advice and return to the original airbox and filter.

All IMHO of course.

Regards

Guy

PS Fantastic car

STi wanna Subaru,

thanks for the advice,
I will seriously consider reverting back if there is a chance it might go pop!
Although the car very rarely gets out.
I'm far too busy at work and dont' get much chance to drive it.
I got my Vito van day to day,(white of course)

Also running a HKS bov, should I take this off as well?

cheers
