Hi all,
As from my username you probably have guessed i have a 1997/R 306 GTI-6 which is pretty good fun all round But this year i want to upgrade to something a bit more special
Ive been moping about on these boards for a couple of months now gathering info on scoobies. As there is a large selection of models available im finding it dificult to make my mind up on what to get.
At the end of the day i will not go above £15,000 and then there is the choice of Scooby or an EVO 5. The only thing thats p!ssing on my bonfire at the minute is Insurance. My gti-6 (group 15) is currently £2000+ age 20 with 1 yrs NCB. In July i will be 21 with 2yrs NCB.
When im 21 will life be easy on the insurance front or am i stuffed for a few years yet?
Help me choose my next car!!!!!!
p.s sorry about my crap spelling/punctuation

Matt,
Im with tesco at the minute but my premium has bee a bit of a rollercoaster ride this year due to a only just getting my NCB from a non-fault accident i had two years ago!
to be honest with my 2 yrs NCB i will not mind paying upto £2500 for insurance. I have also taken into consideration the running costs which look very steep.
But you get what you pay for i suppose.

Insurance is the least of your worried in my opinion. I'm youngish and pay a fair whack for insurance but having come from a hot hatch to the scooby its the fuel economy and in particular the running costs that have stung me the most. This will probably be even higher/worse in an EVO 5. Please make sure your thoroughly research these costs so that you don't make a mistake!!

Saxo Boy is right though they use fuel like its going out of fashion, my advice ,if you decide to go ahead ,is to go for a standard uk model if cash for 'problems' is short, the last thing you want is a firespitting 280bhp scoob that then needs a re-build,which can happen.Good luck mate .
