Slid in the snow. help PLEASE
#1
Just slid around the bend turning into my road, doing about 10 mph on snow (too fast I know) and slid sideways into the bloody kerb DOH! I have knocked the back wheel so that there is now no camber on that side.(near side). The wheel now sits completely upright at right angles to the road. Is this adjustable or have I caused some serious damage. Please help.

You could try adjusting the camber, by either modifying the bolts to allow this, or elongating the strut holes.
Its most likely however, that the hub is bent. Ive seen quite a few go that way.

Mark,
Sorry to hear your news.
Can't help you with the technical problem I'm afraid, but just wanted to say hello and of course enquire how the motor is running these days?
You might want to consider some winter tyres as insurance for the few days that the weather does turn like this each year.
Take care

Hi suresh. Yeah, going really well untill yesterday. Thinking about a change soon though. Still love her, over 2 years and apart from servicing and this little mishap not a penny spent (apart from a couple of mods) or one problem. Marvelous machine

I did a similar thing in the wet a few years ago except I ended up with negative camber !
I bent a large part of the rear suspension as well as knackering a wheel.
Get it checked out, but IIRC it's not adjustable.

Sorry to hear that m8. Did a similar thing in our work carpark this morning and an amazing slow speed too. Had the car almost sideways with plenty of opposite lock, but luckily managed to give it some juice to straighten her back up. In between two lines of cars, so God only knows how I missed them.
AFAIK, the rear camber isn't adjustable on a UK car (not sure about STI's or WRX's). You need camber bolts to adjust, which you may already have.
Best to get someone to look at it quick style.
