Been looking for a early import (MY94) found a couple in my area , there is a 94 Sti for £7K and a WRX same year and money , is there much difference between them ? Is it harder to obtain parts for the STi ?

I would go for an my97 or later.... more power, better brakes/suspension and so on - also much nicer interior and face lifted front end....
that would be sti version 3 onwards.
there is a real diff between sti and wrx.... wrx is the jap market 'equivalent' of the uk turbo. it does have more power than the uk model, but based mostly on standerd engine gubbins... the sti benefits from blueprinting/balancing and upgraded parts, there are a few nice styling touches too.
getting parts for one jap market model is the same for another so sti/wrx makes no real difference there... you should look around for a good local specialist that has a good reputation for service on these cars, they need looking after proprtly.
