I know it makes sense to run with octane booster as these cars were
mapped for 100 ron petrol, but was just curious to see if anybody
does run without it ? I`m just about to buy one and obviously
can`t be sure what fuel / booster its been run on (if any)since
it came to the UK.If it hasn`t used any booster are the effects
of knocking cumulative or does failure occur instantaneously ?

Good question.

I've run mine for 6 weeks without, using only Optimax but don't really give it full beans that often and no sustained high speed runs.

Saying that I did buy a bulk load of NF 1shot yesterday from Dingy, think it'll make me feel safer anyway running this, along with using high quality oil and changing it every 3.5k

I think the danger of not using boost increases with mods to your car such as decat, induction etc.

Have you any mods on yours?

been run with booster.I`m definately not looking at a modded one
though, and I wont be doing track days etc,so was just wondering if
I really needed booster.Have you compared optimax with sul yet ?

Cheers

Nope I wouldn't use SUL in my car, lucky for me I have a Shell garage on the way to work

I've not tried the NF boost yet, I'm not really expecting a noticeable improvement though to be honest.

My car is stock, only plans I have is to get a better sound backbox and maybe improve the brakes.

my car ran on SUL for 25K miles before i bought it, but the guy didnt drive it hard like i do. I use NF plus SUL or Optimax, for the cost its not worth the risk not doing so.

the OB wont give better performance really, just more protection, so dont expect to feel anything significant.
