Mr Smalley in his rant on safety on the roads (all of which I agree with) mentioned that he is waiting on his day of instructed driving with a police driver on joining.
I have been with the club for 3 months and aint received any information about mine.
Could someone let me know or send the information to me please

Write to the SIDC HQ and ask to be included in the next available Essex Police SIDC course. You will join a waiting list and will be summoned when it's your turn
I found it very worthwhile.

While you are waiting for the SIDC training, start the IAM training for the Advanced test. The SIDC training is good reinforcement for the IAM test.
The IAM training sessions are practically free.

Take the IAM training, it's good stuff.
Buy and digest a copy of Roadcraft, the Police Drivers Manual, it's the source of the IAM's good stuff.
Book yourself in on a Don Palmer MIRA wet handling day, here is where you get to learn about the sideways fun, sorry on-limit-handling techniques, that the IAM teach you not to get into in the first place!
This course should be compulsory for all (scooby drivers included), this is where you learn about what 4wd actually does for you and how to get it to do it.

I second what Moray says about Don's course at MIRA.
Everyone can benefit from learning these control techniques, but you're so busy having fun you don't realise it![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
