that if you take the key out ignition and step on the brakes the brake lights still work?
I thought it was something wrong with my car but I've seen it on another import, both are 95 WRX's

How did you ever find out ??
I was in th car at night and as I got out I clipped the brake pedal and saw the lights go on.
I cant think of any cars Ive had that did this before, have never noticed it onb Fords, Rovers, Peugeot, Fiats or any others Ive driven. Oh well life goes on and as long as me car isnt FUBAR'D
I would have thought, that if they didn't work when the key was removed from the ignition that would be dangerous - all the cars I've owned have done this.
Weava - doing OK at the minute. Slowly getting Mother in law's Rover engine back together. I hate it when I have to do a job for the first time with a tight time limit....
We'll have to organise something when I get some time off my various jobs!
All Japanese cars do it, its part of their regulations across there. You will probebly find that anything built for the Asia Pacific market has to have this.
Yeah mine does it too. Nothing to worry about. My last WRX did it too and so did my old Prelude VTEC ( Import ). I mean took at Tokyo and all its bright likes , They like glowing lights and neon etc!!
