Well, after much indecision I have taken the plunge and dipped my toe in Scooby water.

OK, it's not an Impreza (funds do not allow at the moment) but have just aquired the '93 UK Turbo advertised on these pages a while back.

Drove back last night, mostly well below 3000rpm and kept getting stuffed in traffic.. However, a few impressions:

When the turbo DOES kick in, quite pleasing!!! My poor brother in his CRX was left for dead..

Quite good on petrol, given the jams I kept finding..

PAS seemed a bit squeeky (not much at all) is this anything to worry about?

Bit of noise (whirry, mechanical) under moderate revs from a standing start.. Normal?

Bit of vibration in car at about 40mph in 3rd to 5th.. Trim or natural resonance?

Brakes, need a good shove to stop - I hear 4 pots calling!!!

Engine very quiet at idle, pleasing noise when revved!

Any feedback guys (and girls)?

The Legacy Turbo is a great car, a performance bargain. My old folks have had two now and the only problem encountered has been with the clutch. Apparently a bit underengineered considering the car is about 200 bhp. Apart from that it seems pretty bombproof, and not that much slower than a standard Impreza Turbo.

Enjoy!
