sorry if this is in the wrong place just wanted afew view / suggestions before bed.
the car is a 93 wrx which until tonight was running like a dream.
I went to leave amates house tonight I the bloody thing wont start, its not the battery, as we swapped his scooby battery for mine to check, all the lights etc work, its turning over but just wont catch, it has over 1/2 tank of fuel, push starting only resulted in 4 very tired people.
any suggestions ??
mate has been good & let me leave it parked/dumped in his front garden [looks like I'm buying him some beer his wife some flowers & his garden some grass] tonight so I can get it home tomorrow.
cheers for any / all advice.

might be flooded, floor it and turn the key (happened to my 93WRX).
Otherwise whip a plug lead out & check for a spark, maybe the imobiliser has cut in (although I believe this cuts out the starter motor) ?
Whip a spark plug out too, if its wet with petrol & its sparking then it probably has flooded & needs a new water temperature sensor.
OR could be a MAF / ECU failure, but the above are more likely
good luck

On my MY99 Sport the immobiliser didn't affect the starter motor i.e. it would still turn over but not fire. If yours has an immobilizer, you should be able to tell from the warning lights if it's activated or not - I'm fairly sure I could tell when I had a problem with mine. Did have to read the manual though ![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
