Track days/Meets in Surrey
#1
Just wondering if there were any particular track day events or Subaru 'meetings' happening in the Surrey area (Guildford - Woking). Is there a web site dedicated to these kind of events? (only Scooby ones, don't really fancy seeing Astra gte's, nova's et al going around a track ) Woops
I guess that the SIDC would be a good place to start, anyone in my area member of the club, feedback to convey etc...?
Thanks

Hi Greg
I'm a Scooby Newbie as well, Silver MY95 WRX, I live fairly near to Guildford and am a new member of SIDC. I don't know if anything is planned, but I do know that we missed out in January on a meet in Fleet (Hants). Would also be interested in Surrey/Hants meet if anyone is organising anything (Rannoch are you out there? I believe you organised the last two in Fleet?)
Will be interested to see where this thread goes.
Jo (Fellow Newbie )
Ps - I went to Winston Churchill in St Johns (originally from West End nr Bisley!) Hope you're enjoying the car as much as I am!

I live 2 mins down the road from that School & I used to live in Bisley - now in Woking.
Small world innit...?
Surry meets are usually held at Newlands Corner near Guildford - just down the road from Bell & Colvill.
I am interested in another meet...
Cheers
Jules.

Jules,
What is the usual format of the newlands corner meet? Usual turn-up?
There's a nice road from there to Dorking...unfortunately there is quite often uniformed presence with funny cameras along the way. Very popular with the two wheeled fraternity who then meet up in Box hill.
Guess I'll keep an eye on this thread for the next local meet.

Usual thing is meet at Newlands late morning then a couple of hours mulling...."dont those gold wheels look nice" ...... "oooo a 22b"......& of course the count the Scoobysport exhaust game....
Then onto a large pub - there are a couple very close - warn the landlord though
Lots to eat - lots to drink (lemonade of course) then off home early afternoon so the wife doesn't complain you've been out all day !!!
Plod is always out round there on Sundays - take care.

Greg/Jules, perhaps we should have a mini-meet in the Bridge Barn one evening ??
I'm sure there will be something to celebrate (and I'm not talking about the nice new boost gauge)
There are enough scoobs round here to have a WSIDC, you know what I mean......
keep your eyes peeled for my girlfriend in a black WRX

Sounds like a plan to me, never need an excuse to visit those public house places..
Count me in. Like the thought of more than one Scooby parked next to one another in a car park. 'Pubs and Scoobies', definately has a nice sound to it
