Just received this email. Think I'll request a refund.
Cheers,
Ian.

Not surprising really. They never sold enough tickets to pay off the car, and they did leave it open long enough for those who wanted to take part could.
Also the car on offer was an old model.

Surely risk is part of a comp like this. Theyd be quick enough to keep it going if there were enough tickets sold.
You cant just cancel something because you havent made enough money out of it.
Chip.

If the competition isn't selling tickets, what can you do to encourage more sales though?
They've spent a fair amount advertising the prize (banner ads and evo ads are what I've seen, possibly more). This will NOT have been an easy decision, especially knowing what it'll cost to refund the money on a credit card.
Shame, but if they'd have let it run longer they'd have been open to accusations of sitting on people's money so in my eyes they've done the right thing.
