I am in the process of buying the new 2003 STi. I'm in a dilemma at the moment as to what colour to pick. The choices are WR Blue Mica or White. I really want to get the car in white as I used to own a Integra Type R and always thought it looked really cool and I think the new shape Scooby would too. My other reason is that it breaks the trend from everyone else having Blue scoobies (even though I have a blue WRX MY02). The only thing stopping me is saleability (if that's a word!). Will a white scooby be difficult to sell? Otherwise I will have to choose the Blue and be one of the sheep (Baa!).
What does everyone else think?

I love white cars personally the good thing is with white the paint doesnt look tired anywere near as fast as blue will do plus its easier to hide stonechips etc etc. No horrible swirls in the sun either.

Dare to be different....
depends basically for how long are you going to keep the car, if you sell it in 1-2 years, you are going to lose so much money, the colour would be no object.
But IMHO, we live in a world that its becoming vital to be different(in a good way).

Ive owned a few white cars and there isnt anything wrong with them BUT if your after selling in a few years time, the Blue will get you a better price and faster sale (it took ages to sell my last white car )

MITCH55,
Are you getting an STi too? If you are, have you test driven it yet? I've only had a go at a STi7 as they had sold their demo, but I hear the 2003 model is even better.

Another white vote. The Old Boy's MY2002 is white. We all laughed when he ordered it, but in all honesty it looks splendid.
An ugly car in an ugly colour. Two minuses make a plus.
WR Blue is SOOO last year.

Right guys! Blue scooby it is as I'm not waiting till December. Shame really, would have been nice as I've only seen one White MY03 STi and that was on the autoexpress site I think. So back to the herd for me! Baa baa baa!

White is right - for some (mainly 80's) cars...IMHO
Think UR quattro, Lotus Esprit Turbo, 3.2 911 Carrera Sport, the Mk2 Golf GTI, Pug 205 GTi, Astra GTE...
The RA Scoobs and ITR's look good in white too (it makes them look lighter!)but unless you are going for the real race/rally replica look you may suffer a lower resale value...
P.S. Bon't think white would be cheaper to repair than a mica/metallic finish as many 'solid colour' paint finishes these days have a clear coat so it's still a two stage process. Don't know about the Scoob though...

I heard white was cheaper to repair as you don't have to blend the colours on undamaged panels. I also heard that silver is the worst as you end up having to respray the whole car.

I agree white does look good however the main draw back is that with the slightest bit of dirt or dust and it will look dirty.
I have WR Blue Mica and even when its caked in **** it still stands out and looks good
IMHO
