Hi All

The mods are trying to talk me in to doing a run of posts about the workings behind the scenes of a WRC event.

This would include things like how the results work (ie.. what are time controls, how do penalties work, regroups, etc).. what do the organisers of each rally do all year round when the rally isn't on.. what are the various roles of the people in Rally HQ (clerk of the course, results officers, stewards and officials, etc).. what do the gravel cars do, etc, etc, etc.

Would this be of interest or does everyone know all this already?

cheers

Simon

ok.. if this is of interest to you let me know what kind of thing you would like to know about and I'll base the first article on the thing with the most interest.

All the best

Sounds excellent! I'm really new to the whole rallying scene but i'm interested in it. I also find the coverage provided by C4 seems to gloss over thigs a tad.

Maybe a 'Rallying: An Intro For Beginners' piece may be a good place to start? Covering the basics before going more in-depth into other areas?
Or should i just go read teletext?

OK..

That's a good idea.. I'll do an introductory article and post it in the motorsport forum. I'll also put a sticky thread in general pointing to the series of articles as they appear.

All the best

Simon

OK..

I've posted up the first one in the motorsport forum here :

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=175894

If this gets enough response / generates discussion I'll do some more and put a sticky in general linking them together.

All the best
