![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
In the last week, I've noticed that after a good run (lots of grinning
) when the car is sat either on tick-over cooling down, or after I've turned it off...I can hear a popping noise from under the car. I presume it's the exhaust?
The only mod is a TSL back box. It sounds more like it's coming from the centre section.
Is there a cat (not a fluffy one
) there, and is this the noise as it's cooling down?

Has anyone else had this popping sound (Whilst the car is turned off !!)which lasts for a couple of minutes after switch off when the car is warm.
It isn't a continuous pop, every 10 15 secs you can hear it go POP..CRACKLE..and then silence for a while.
(It's not the normal ticking as things cool down after a quick run).

Could be the turbo's heat shield as it cools down. My classic used to make lots of noise after switching off.

Ta for the replies..
It's put my mind at rest.
I'll check for any leaks as well, although I'm pretty sure nothing is leaking as there's no stains on the garage floor (doubt if a leak would get burnt up by the exhaust without some drips hitting the floor)
will check though.
