MY02 WRX - to PPP or not to PPP.....
#1
... that is the question!
Guys,
Having owned my WRX for a whole 2 months now I've been thinking about getting it PPP'd?
Can anyone give an idea as to whether the outlay of 1600 big ones is worth it / benefits......
oh yeah and most importantly is the zorst LOUDER than a WR Sport one?!!

depends on whether you want to keep your warrenty or not, because there are so many different tuning packages for the same money which deliver much more. eg The PPP has Back Box, Decat Centre Section, Intercooler Piping and ECU Remap and gives ~245bhp and 261lb/ft torque, whereas the ScoobySport system is total decat, including back box, and remap which gives ~285bhp. And they both cost near enough the same, so it all depends on whether you want to keep your warrenty, although I have fully decated mine, and my dealer said it sounds nice and that the warrenty is still there.

Ideally I'd like to keep my warranty (if it's gonna go wrong it usually happens to me!!).
Was it the Scoobysport full de-cat you went for and did you get it remapped as well? If so I wonder how come the dealer said that your warranty was still intact?

I've PPP'ed mine and I'm looking at a full de-cat now. Maybe that's only because I know there is more to be had. Too many options for Scooby owners make modifications far too tempting!
Nothing wrong with PPP performance on the WRX but you can always go faster!

Cheers for the responses.......
Think I'm gonna have a little chat with the dealer where I got it from, find out whether I need to go PPP for warranty or whether I could go with a complete de-cat and so on and still be ok!!
If something happened to the CD player then I think they'd probably say "no problems", however if something happened to the engine then they'd probably turn round and say "ahh well sir you mod'd the car to "out of spec"" !!
At the end of the day, having forked out 22 big uns, I don't wanna lose something I may need <but hopefully don't!!>
Cheers

Depending on how deep you wanted to go with this......
say you put a full de-cat on? you'd have to take it off everytime the car went to the dealers for a service, cos at the end of the day, if they got wind that you'd mod'd your motor and then had to claim, they might not be very sympathetic......
altho this does depend how well you get on with the boys at the dealership and what it was that went **** up?
