I have just thrown away the space saver thing and put a spare RB5 wheel in place.

this obviously has raised the carpet up and it looks like i have a nice bulge now

i want to get some of the real thick foam stuff about 2" thick to cut and fit in the boot space, therefore leveling things out.

Does any1 know where i could get some of this foam?

has any1 done same sorta thing or done something else?

Foam "STUFF" you may be refering to can be purchased from any building suppliers. It is used for underfloor insulating or between roof timbers.
Hope that is the stuff you need.

PS i have just kept my space saver it saves a trip to the local merchants.

Not the same reason but I went to local carpet shop and brought an off cut cost me a fiver 6' x 6' and did two cars with it. Even got a new blue colour to match the car . took about 10 minutes tops using the existing carper as a template. Maybe worth popping into a carpet place to see what they have lying around. I found the small local high street carpet seller was better and not the big carpet places as they just chuck their off cuts away.

Obviously it was just normal carept and wouldnt raise it 2 inches though. So all and all I have posted a useless reply. Well at least its a free BTTT

Depending where in the UK you are but we have a weekly Market here.

Which is massive and there is a guy that just sells foam and lots of it, including big sheets of very thick foam.

As its on the market it should be quite cheap too.

Scott ;-)

Cool

Why do the foam thing?

Whynot, & I haven't done it myself 'cos I is lazy sometimes, get some wood such as hardboard and some 1"x3" & make a platform over your spare, then carpet it. Depending how much effort you wish to put in, this then becomes extra storage to make up for that you lost.

Of course, you could do the reverse & make a wheel sized hole & then have a wheel sized hump (carpeted) instead.

Foam is a waste of space that could otherwise be used for storage WHY

Question

... and you can make cut-outs in the foam to store your wheel brace, torch etc and all the other stuff that rolls around in the
boot.

Anyone know where I can get a 2 inch longer pin to secure the wheel to the floor though ??!
