sorry for being thick but i dindnt think sti8 was released till mar 1st so how can u get one on a 52 plate?

On the basis that virtue is often it's own reward. Imagine my surprise this morning when coming out the tunnels at Newport M4 on my way to do some shopping at Cribbs Causeway I spotted a new STI on the hard shoulder hazard lights flashing and three forlorn looking guys frantically calling on their mobiles. I pulled over to offer assistance and wound down the passenger side window guess who stuck his head into the car and said "Have you got a gallon of petrol in the boot?" none other than the man himself but Tiff... Well I was just ever so slightly gob-samcked!. Anyway I helped them by fetching required nourishment for the STI and also as fate would have it had the camera in the boot so got these pics as well bonus! This certainly made my day. Hope the uploader thingy works...

yes 5th gear will be back shortly, my mate said that he did his 'stig' drive around the track in the VX220 turbo and been driving the camera truck for some other road tests for the new series

 

wound be interested to know if its his car....

and was it an sti8? - suspect not with the 52 plate?

 

My STi8 was on a 52 plate so it could well be.

Remember that until today, all STi8s were on a 52 plate, so there are plenty around (mine included) and the rear lights show it is an '8'.

I would think it's one of IM's press cars, and the exhaust would suggest it's been PPP'd.

Some STi8s became available to those who were either lucky enough, or got on well with their dealers. The plate makes no difference on a car like that so I decided to pick mine up at the end of January, a couple of days after Rum.

It also carried the advantage of getting the PPP done before the rush of '03s

BG52 ZFX is exactly the same car as EVO tested in the March issue....

So - it's an IM press car and not Tiff's P&J - though it is PPP'd.
