Cool

Where did my reply go?

Its 265ps and 0-60 in 5.5 in standard trim, and 305ps and 0-60 in 4.9 with a PPP.

Slower than my sti7 PPP then.
Subaru UK figures 0-60mph 5.2 secs
with PPP 0-60mph 4.64 secs

Yep they just seem to get slower and fatter. If we were to judge Subaru's against the old survival of the fittest evolution rule, I think the Scoobs would be as extinct as the dinosaurs.

Classic STi. Still the best IMO

£1600 for 30bhp and 0.6 of a second gain on the 0-60mph, is it really worth it?

The PPP is more about the in gear acceleration, it is worth the money and having owned a 7 and progressing to the 8 the 8 feels much better

Thumbs up

John,
£2000
Yes it is IMHO

1) Drivability
2) Full Warranty
3) Added value to car

Sti7 PPP

3) Added value to car
Try telling that to the STi7 owners

STi8 is quoted as both 5.5 and 5.2 to 60 on the Subaru website/info (5.5 in the brochure bit and 5.2 under the PPP info),with the PPP version doing it in 4.6, which is also quoted by Autocar.

these are in fact the same as quoted by Subaru for the STi7 - both weigh the same, same power and gearboxes etc, so this would ssem to be right.

all for UK spec.

hope this helps.

I think it`s correct though that you can`t hit 60 in 2nd gear, so in a real would the cars are faster than the 0-60 time appears.

Is this true as I haven`t run mine in yet and haven`t had the chance to test this out.

I've just bought an sti7, and I can't quite get to 60 in 2nd. Having owned a my02+ppp previously, I think that these 0-60 and 0-100 times as quoted aren't entirely accurate.

my sti7 feels v fast

Why's that then
The impression I get is that STi7 owners are losing money hand over fist in depreciation now that the new style 8 is out, plus the purchase price is a grand less so how you going to get your £1,600 back when you sell.
I can't see how you'll ever *add* value to a car by fitting a PPP, perhaps you may get 50% of your outlay back when you sell it but never more IMHO.
