Good news I think it won't be long before the majority of Dealers are aware of it
UKtype,
Rumours(not from Prodrive) are that Eibach have the "Prodrive" spring spec's for STi7 & 8 are manufacturing them we speak so maybe available in April ish

I phoned Whites in Cirencester yesterday, they knew nothing....
They phoned me this morning to say they've now been informed that they will need to change fuel pumps on all 3 STi7 PPP's that they've done. They will ring me when they have the pumps in to arrange to get it done. Good news!!
Perhaps a bit premature, I guess I should wait until they've got the pumps in before celebrating. Perhaps they'll have springs too and we can do them both together - no don't push me luck....

Imp,
I don't think you have been correctly informed, IIRC, many peeps with STi7's have had PPP, with the new pump as part of pack, fitted since febuary IMHO
Dave,

Just had a PPP fitted to my MY02 STI today (I allowed someone else to queue jump or it would have been earlier) and saw the new fuel pump being fitted (saw most of the process actually).
The mechanic (who I respect a lot) advised that when you go back for the recall, or to have a PPP fitted for the first time, you should have no more than a third full petrol tank. It is amazing just how much petrol can slop around removing and fitting the new pump, stinking out the car as well as being a danger. Mine had to be part drained as it was two thirds full.
He removed the back seat (both parts) to get a clean access to the pump and prevent any spillage onto the foam padding. All this takes time so it isn't quite a "wait and have a cuppa" job.
There appears to be a shortage of downpipes and that is adding to the delays for MY02 PPP's.
My view of the PPP ..... oh yesssssssssssss!

Are IM going to extend the warranty on these vehicles that have now been running around since September with inadequate fuel pumps? Det damage can be present without an immediate failure ocuring.
having just re-read this thread http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...=138820&Page=4 it would suggest the tester/testing processes were too kind/inadequate if they didnt find this problem afterall.
Mike also hasnt met his goal of the spec not being changed post release, on something as simple as fuel flow rates that's quite disapointing after such extended testing pre release.
I havent had a reply to my questions in the main fuel pump thread in drivetrain and Simon hasnt got back to me on showing me what testing they do at warwick either, which is a shame, i would like to see how they went about testing this kit. http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...170888&Page=12
I best send Simon a mail direct.

So is there going to be a recall notice or will the dealers just do it as the cars come back for a service?
Sorry, I’ve been helluva busy at work and missed this before the weekend. My understanding is that there isn’t going to be a recall notice as such. The reason is that, I believe, PPP purchasers aren’t recorded on an IM maintained database.
Each dealer has / will receive a fax asking them to contact PPP customers and advise them individually (I could be wrong but ….)
Nice to meet you on Saturday – some pics here
I could swear I posted this on the fuel pump thread in drivetrain at least a couple of weeks ago
I’ve tried to follow that post as time would allow (sorry, might have missed something). I felt, however, that it was worthwhile to post in ‘General’ that I’d actually had the call.
