Similar post in 'was it you?'...
I get 4 or so regulars who wave, but several who don't...
Sorry, but it looks like it's just like that !
Mark
PS - I've been on here for several months and have yet to be spotted - or have someone I've spotted answer a post !

Hey Terzo42
Were you in the lanes car park today (carlisle) at lunchtime, blue with gold alloys. I waved but realised I was in the Picasso !!
Midlife...
PS those wheels are a *really* nice gold....did you have them sprayed locally or did they come like that ??

I wave,or at the least sweek scooby so loud the other half practically chrashes. Always in the scoob at the the time as poor impoverished household can only sustain 1 car.Very little response back, but hey life would be a little bit sadder if you didn't try If there are any scoobs around Northampton town centre feel free to wave we will wave back ( green sport )

Said a friendly 'good morning' as I got out of my car and walked past a bloke about to wash his (same model & colour) Impreza at the garage.
Looked at me and my car and frowned - must have been me !
or he thought they were rare or something

It seems that most scooby drivers fall into 3 groups.
1.Those that wave and smile at any other scooby on the road and keep on doing it whether they get a response or not
2.Those that used to wave and acknowledge their fellow drivers but cant be bothered now because of lack of returned compliments
3.or those who are miserable sods and find that raising a hand in salute is far too much effort.
Only problem is its so easy to go from group 1 to 2.
I have driven various scoobies from sports to turbo's, wave and smile at all and sundry, check the boards to see whether i have been spotted (not yet grrr..) and after all this time it still amazes me how little scoob owners(well a small percentage) can be bothered.Still at least the larger percentage make an effort to keep BBS boards like this alive and intersting. For the rest of you lot in group 3. SOD YERR...

I think the day of scooby rivers being a community is slowly having its day. The scooby net community is an ace bunch, but you are now probably a very small minority of scooby owners out there, dude to its success every tom dick and hary has one, most know nothing about this place, and many are not scooby enthusiasts, they just want an icon to tell people what they drive...Sad but true

See my rant thread for one account of " Scooby Snobbery " !!.
I would reckon that in South Wales its a good 60 - 70 % that will wave and grin no matter what spec they drive. Still some bozo's who ignore you, funnily they are nearly all bug eye'd. I pass an STi 7 ever morning ( on Hafordrynys Hill around 7.45 if your reading this matey ) and I flash and wave everyday, he persists in ignoring me, so it's now become a challenge to get a response from him.

You want to get a response from your regular. If he is passing you, just swerve ever so gently into his path. I bet you get a response.may not be the one you want but better than nothing.
edited to say that i dont condone such foolish actions.

It's getting to that stage now !!. It's been weekdays for the last four months. But the road is very busy and no leeway for the slightest error. He's a suit and tie merchant, but then again so am I. I think I am developing an attitude to authority as I am getting older, should be the other way. But anyway the grey headed old sgote doesn't wave.

I always wave if I see them in time - very rare then
In 98MY, people with big spoilers never (ever) waved!
In RB5, Bug-eyes never (ever) waved, people with small spoilers only waved when I waved first.
In UK Preston area...
1998 - 100%
2000 - 40%
Now - 60%
In Germany 1998-Now: 100% (Thats about 5 in total )

I find most bug eyes dont wave back, cannot say all because I drive one and I wave at everybody .
Last week i saw 3 in one night and not one waved back, in fact i sat behind another STi7 at some traffic lights and i could see the driver looking back through his mirror, I put my hand up, but all i got was a blank look, but thats life
Cheers steve

I was really egar when I first got my scooby (sport), and used to flash all other scoobies I spotted, but stopped when people kept pulling out of side roads in front of me, as they thought I was flashing at them. This got about a 10% wave back.
I now just wave and get 0% response. But I rarly see any.
Drove nearly 500 miles yesterday and saw two, one parked at a motorway service station and one parked ot side a corner shop.
Come on Bracknell/Reading/Ascot. WAVE!!!!!!

I am in group 1.
I think I am heading towards group 2.
I think most of the UK (irrespective of whether they drive Scoobies or drive anything at all - just in general) are in group 3.....I blame the government..

Keep the faith !!
Keep waving & it will continue IMHO
all scoobs are special anyway
wife had a mini once & all fellow mini owners used to wave then.
not bad for a 30 year old car , the scoobs got a long way to go yet though but it deserves it.
