Thanks very much to the Impreza owner who crept into my drive last night and unscrewed the OSF spot light and indicator last night.
This has cost me £80 to replace. If you think you got away with it, think again!
Strangely, a green Impreza was spotted driving around on Sunday with these parts missing in New Romney Kent and the Police have your description and the first bit of your reg no.
Dont come back for more bits otherwise you will get a shock. Literally.

Do you want the three bolts that you left behind?

Cheers "M8"

Hope they catch that thieving swine and cut his hands off....
Not a true Scooby owner, otherwise they would be asking to buy the parts on the other threads...!!

Hope no damage to your car, and you get to sort out the hassle that you don't need from that pr*ck....

Unless they sped away from the scene you've no chance of them getting caught . If they do - give the tw@ts a good kicking from me (The theives not the Police)

Well, not a good first post but hello all the same. People like that annoy me a lot , i feel the same ... having had my car (not subaru) kicked in one time and also being keyed a full length of the car.

Vandalism , car crime etc.. etc.. they are all tw*ts (and thats not the word twits)

I had a similarly kind hearted visit from a fellow owner a few years ago and he swiped my Smoked side repeaters, I told the police the house they had gone into (I spotted two guys hanging around where the car was parked, they then mooched off into a nearby drive way and emerged in a classic WRX) but they seemed uninterested. Hope you have more luck.

New spotlight and indicator has arrived this morning, is fitted and ready to be nicked again.

Got the bits from Andy at Grade A Subaru, including the delivery, £94.
Add to that the surveillance camera, 12,000 volt cattle prod, CS spray, and a few gin traps it should now be more secure.

Fully spotted again.

Bikes have data tagging, kind of acid etching, so parts can't be sold on. Sad but maybe this will be standard soon with the microdots

Ohh and if anyone has spotted a CScooby wearing a Covercraft car cover in grey, with a special mod to accomodate an STi V rear ironing board, let me know cos I still miss it!

Have garage now, but even put the disklock and alarm on in a double locked and alarmed garage! Paranoid me ?

Hope you catch up with the tossers M8.

This is the third post like this i have read in the last 2 days. Is it me or are subaru owners starting to resemble the nova sr owners who keep nicking parts off each others cars cause some one nicked it off theres. Perhaps they should start putting the prices back up so little gits like this cant afford to buy them.

Jon,

I think you have hit the nail on the head there mate.

I have noticed that more and more 'max power' freaks are getting into imprezas, literally.

When you can pick up a 94 WRX for around £4500 - £5000? it isnt really out of thier reach.
It does seem that the impreza is becoming more of a 'bad lads' car these days, rather than a performance car for the more mature generation

The crate I am renting is 40 feet long and 8 ft wide and made of steel so little chance of the car going walkies and you could easily get two cars in it. Plus the only access in and out is through a security gate were you have to show ID. Top value for money.

CEL - Valid point there. I see it as the same thing that has happened to the Sierra Cosworth. It started off as an expensive performance car, but as the years moved on, it became accesible to younger people, who decided to do the max power thing to it, thus giving the 'image' most people associate with the car. Same thing is happening to the scooby.

I would say the same thing will, if it is not already, happen to the likes of Evo's and Skylines.

It's evolution, or de-evolution, depends on how you look at it.

This was one of the reasons that I got rid of my BMW.
One night they stole my spotlights and brackets and a couple of weeks later after I'd replaced it they came back and stole the whole front bumper including both spotlights. The cost of a new E36 M3 front bumper from BMW was nearly £1000 including painting!

Question

After replacing the parts I have now resigned this to the history folder in my head. There little chance of getting the sh*ts so move on, somewhat wiser though.
The police phoned over the w/e to dot the i's and cross the t's on the crime report: one thing they said which would be of interest to all is that Kent Police always carry ultra violet torches to check for stolen or marked parts if they stop a vehicle. For £3 its got to be worth marking up a few bits here and there?

After reading all these posts I can honestly say I didnt even think about "bits" of my car being stolen! How awful. Fingers crossed I never become a crim-statistic for the Dorset area.

I cant see why somebody would bother going to these of length's for less than £100. Sad *****. Need a good kicking.
I am sorting out renting a container for my evo at a big properly maintained 24hr security place 2 mins down the road from me. Only 24 quid a week. I am doing this as I am away from home alot and only use the evo at weekends but I would soon do this than loose my no claims bonus etc etc much cheaper and some peace of mind

Sorry to hear about those Tw*ts nicking bits from your car........but at least you didnt have any "damage" as such , unlike myself last weekend........still picking the glass out of my a*se every day and the dash just looks lovely with the 3 SCREWDRIVER acces points around the head unit.....ALL this and it has a Cat1 clifford fitted (brazen little SH*TES)

Mind you helps to stay in a small village and we got the little BAS*ards......sorry for the swearing all but i am still "very very angry" and know exactly how you feel Colin.......

hope you catch the gits
