Hello all
Appologies if some of my questions have been covered before but here goes.
Taking delivery of sti8ppp,centre decat,18in wheels. What other engine mods if any are available to increase performance within a budget of around 1k. strut braces, will you notice a difference. Are the spring kits worth considering ,pros & cons. Paint protection is it worth the money? excuse my ignorance but what is tramlining?
Its my first scooby so I'm well keen for any advice. btw great site bit more fruity than the cobra forum i'm used to.

Tramlining is when you have low profile / crap tyres and you get caught in the ruts on the Motorway made by big lorries. Feels as if the car is just moving all over the place.

Or it could mean something completely different.

Thumbs up

Hail-hail has it right, tramlining is when your tyres "force" you to follow all sorts of ruts in the road from motorway ones caused by lorries to ones caused by road repairs etc. Can be very un-nerving at speed:, and happens mostly with crap tyres.
IIRC you won't notice any difference with strut braces on an STi8, the body is already super stiff.
For answers on suspension, contact TSL, or Powerstation, both have banners on here.

Prodrive are doing a suspension kit for STi7, which implies a market for such an upgrade. STi8 has some suspension improvements, but I'm not tecchie enough to know whether the obviate the benefit of an upgrade.. I had paint protection on my previous scooby. yes, it helped preserve the appearance, but not dramatically - "take-it-or-leave-it" really. There's been warranty grief for really quite minor mods recently, so be careful!
