i am taking the turbo on holiday from north of scotland( elgin) to the lake district.i need to know where i can fill up with super unleaded south of glasgow on the m 74 and the m6.it would be handy if anyone knows of super unleaded beside kendal,windermere and keswick.i try to avoid unleaded if i can ,i know the ecu will reset itself after running with unleaded but the car ( my00) does go better with super unleaded.q8 petrol seems to be the best.

Will Optimax do?

IIRC, the Shell at Happendon Services (J12/11 M74) has Optimax, as does Abingdon Services J13.

When we were up in Windermere last summer, the small Shell in town had swapped from SUL to Optimax.

 

Chris is correct, in that the Happendon services sell Optimax, as does the services at Abington (J13). You should be able to get all the way from Elgin to Abington without re-fuelling, and from there all the way to the lake district.

Get yourself to a local motorcare shop and purchase a couple of bottles of octane booster incase you get caught out like I did in France. Came in handy for the sake of a few quid. To tell the truth, performance may have been a shade better with normal unleaded and the octane booster.
