Hi, a friend of mine recently imported a subaru imprea sti 5 type r from Japan. He's having some problems getting it sva'd, as they are asking £1500 for a test report before it can be sva'd. Does anyone know a way around this?

I dont think there is a way round it. If you import a car 97 onwards, apparently the SVA is a pain in the ****! I thought it only costs £1000 though??

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere here... or may be on another website.... that if you were lucky you could try asking an importer to borrow (usually for a fee) a model report for your model car?
assuming they'd already sva'd an sti 5 type r.
