How can these guys bypass a cat 1 alarm and immobiliser (without the keys) - does it take them like 2 mins or what?

I was sure that a cat 1 would keep them busy for ages... But maybe not.

As we can all see from Eddie'5coob and his recent misfortune the bad boys are taking an easier option to liberate our pride and joy motors from their temporary resting places.

In my area, South side of Glasgow, the neds are running riot stealing all types of high class, big value motors, using the easy method as with Eddie'5coob.

Yes its simpler to overcome the security of the dwellings enter and remove the car using true key.Often the unwitting householder is leaving the back door open and the car keys easily accessible to the thief.

Take it from me, i recently had a pursuit with a 97 wagon during the nightshift, it ate me up and spat me out whilst i was trying like mad in a 530 bmer. No comparrison!Later found out the sub was puttin out 300bhp+, what chance do you have??

My advice is sleep with your keys in the bedroom, that's what i do, and keep a hairy arsed bum biter (dog), to boot!

Glim.

p.s. sorry if this thread has already been covered but you cant be too careful.

I also think the clifford blackjax is a good investement aswell (check with your insurance co) comes included with clifford 600 i think .

They wont get more than 1 minute away from your house

DO everything you can to stop these aholes from getting what you have worked hard for .

Im getting my impreza in about 3 weeks, security i have planned is disklok, clifford 600 with blackjax and tracker , + those post that come up from the ground.

The days of leaving keys visable and doors unlocked are long gone BUT someone with a family may prefer the car gone rather than violence in the home. Us singletons may prefer to take our chances and keep the keys well hid.

No right or wrong answer IMO.

I for one leave the keys on a hook near the front door - behind the monitored police calling house alarm.

There is no way I want a fight over my car keys at 2am.

Most of these people are spineless Ba#3ards and would run a mile if challenged.

If the keys are in sight then this only encourages them, you'd be surprised how many people still leave their doors unlocked at night.

dozens of high value cars in 2 months in a very small area says it all for me!!!

I keep the blip for my alarm seperate from my keys. So I can give them the keys and let them open the door only for the alarm to go off.

Scratch , visit www.clifford.co.uk

basically, if u open driver door or passenger door or any door if wired up , you have to enter a keycode into the pad mounted in your car. If it is not entered the car shuts down in 1-2 minutes (depending on what you chose) , then alarm sounds with lights flashing etc.. rendering car totally useless until you enter the code again , (even if thief has the keys and clifford key fob)

well worth it ....

96 Turbo wagon in beautiful condition, just upgraded security again tonight....Disklok steering device ( bargain from Halfords, now only £69 )...to add to Toad class 1, Tracker and immobiliser, face off stereo and nothing left in the car. I had my very first car nicked ( escort 1600 sport mark 2 ), I will never have another car nicked again. Just for the record, I spent 2 years in South African army from 89-91 and I've been trained to combat ANC terrorists and I won't take any **** from car thieves and I emphasise that any ****er tries to nick my scoob or break into my house and threaten my family, YOU WILL ONLY LEAVE MY HOUSE IN A BODY-BAG, you have been warned!!!!!!

My sympathies to the chap who's car was stolen last night, been there mate, doesn't matter what you drive when it's your own.

The best Security cost me £12.50

this is how it works...
Drop both Front Seats down and Use the LOCK between the Seats and stering wheel....ue with TWO Stop Locks.. Imobalizer and Alarm..rigged to a Pager system to let you know when your alarm goes off.
Touch WOOD.. the cars not been touched since this little lots been added!!!

They'll steal your wheels and indicator lenses. Best remove them as well.

I've just had my car nicked from the hospital car park, stayed late to help out on a nice 13 hour shift, it'll all be caught on camera but that's not worth jack ****...
Fourth time in total it's been broke into in six months use-every time the Disclock hasn't been on!
Cat 1 a+i doesn't seem to bother them.
Oh well, back to a vw polo for me no doubt-but it's been fun!!

Oh my gosh Salsa!!! That´s a bit on the extreme side (extremely annoying to have to do that each time you jump out of the car). You should move to a place with a lower crime rate mate!

Clifford worked for me!!

i had it installed on friday, then on saturday night i was staying round at the missus's house. i parked my car on the drive in front of her mums new punto.

Armed the car and went in,

came out in the morning to find that the punto had been broken into, sterio knicked and cd's.

My car was left untouched and they had to walk past it to get to the punto,

big big big big relief as before the clifford all i had was a disclock.

i am presuming they didnt touch mine due to the alarm. and not because her mum has a better taste in music.

Dont' forget that if you use deadly force, that digging a big hole and burying the body might let you get away with it, if you don't have a DNA or police record.

Not that I condone such anti-social behaviour.

Another top toy is a dead lock / gearbox bolt, goes into ignition tunnel and bolt slides through the transmission giving REVERSE only, they reckon min of 8 hours with the right cutting equipment to get round it, 200 notes or so and i love mine together with my tracker and cat 1.
