Question

Folks,

Any idea if there is a suitable roll cage that can be fitted/removed for track days without pulling the car to bits (STi8) - and doesnt wreck the interior of the car. I seem to remember some years ago that performance drivers (through safety devices) produced one.

Cheers,

Richie.

Richie,

There is a roll "hoop" built into the STI that you have. It runs all the way around the car in the b pillars; that's why they're so big compared to the classic...

Cheers,
Nick.

I should have put more details in the original post I want to install a 4 point harness, and need somewhere for the rear straps to run, horizontal like (in the event of a crash I dont want to find my seat collapsing around me )

Safety devices did produce a removable cage for the classic, I've got one for my P1, and various people like Stef had 4 door ones. Why not give SD a ring they make giveyou a good deal if you let them develop one on your car. I take the back seats out to put mine in (a 5 minute job) and then it takes about 45 minutes to get the cage in. Taken out you would have no idea that it has been in there.

I think that there are better mountings in the rear shelf in a MY01+ so you may be able to mount the belts horizontally anyway, but I'm not sure...
