It's easy:
PS is what you quote when you're trying to impress.
BHP is what you quote to your insurance company:

Very roughly (they are slightly different measures) you can assume:

1 PS = 0.986 bhp

So your 240ps wagon is about 236 bhp.

you are full of useful info Dave - i dunno where it all comes from, but you are gonna end up with square eyes if you stare at that screen much longer dude!

I'm still at work, so I've got to stare at the screen for a bit longer... Running simulations is a bit dull...
