Hello,
I ampicking up my 99V 5Dr Impreza Turbo on Tuesday, and I want to give it a bit of an oomph in the power department.
I am aware of Superchips etc etc, but as an instant hit so to speak what would you experienced scooby people reccomend as a sure fire way of adding to the performance for not to much money (shall we say a maximum of £350)
ps, what is the standard exhaust on these cars, as mine seems to have a massive single stainless steel back box on it?
All help is massively appreciated!

micky,
The cheapest option seems to have already been done, The Std exhaust is two twin outlets IIRC.
You would IMHO(in my humble opinion) be better spending your dosh on a car handling course. A fast car driven good will far out perform a slightly faster car driven not so good![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Again if there are 2 pot brakes on her
change them for 4 pots (some have 2 some have 4 pots at that age) again no piont going faster if you cant stop.
Tony
Ps I don't think superchips are well though of on Scoobs
may be better asking in the drivetrain forum ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

i think the MY99 has 4 pots on her so you dont need to worry about the brakes.
Now , where to spend that £350 .... it appears the exhaust has been modified , but is it just a the backbox that has been changed or do you know if it was a full system ? speak to the previous owner if you dont know. If it wasnt then a good place to start would be the downpipe (i think) , this would release power.)
Possibly a replacement performance filter. Has the car got a boost gauge ? if not then i would advise getting one of these too.
You can also invest in a dawes device (£40 or so i think) this will raise boost , make things quicker for you
, speak to someone more knowledgable about that though)
im sure someone can offer you more advice , i dont have my impreza yet (counting down the weeks) , thats just info i have picked up from here.
